In cricket, match fixing occurs as a match is played to a completely or partially pre-determined result, violating the rules of the game and often the law. In particular, players have been approached by bookmakers and bribed to throw matches or aspects of matches (such as the toss), or provide other essential information. Fixing has happened in both international - including Test matches, One Day Internationals, T20Is - and domestic cricket.
Betting on cricket matches from around the world televised in India is a hugely lucrative business. Gamblers or bookmakers can cash in if they know in advance what a particular bowler or batsman is going to do. Bets are placed on every delivery in a 50- or 20-overs match and players can accept bribes to fix incidents.

Rashid latif the man with gutts. No doubt india n pakistan threw lot of matches in 90s. It was evident the way some players used to run out the non strikers.. But then problem was the players match fee n endorsement were so less that these players would fall into the trap of these bookies. Cricket betting was a dark industry which was probably earning more than any board or ICC at that time. Now IPL n PSL top players are earning handsomely n are not getting into the trap of betting. We can see the result of pakistani team after 2017, it's much consistent and there is no much doubts in their performance.

As a 90's cricket fan who used to watch literally every game, every ball ( i know it feels crazy now but cricket was Junoon) he is absolutely right about how the NZ tour went.. We won first two tests, then lost the 3rd test without any effort.. Won ODI's 3-0 then last the 2-0. In 1996 England won test series 2-0, lost the ODI series but in the last game, Rashid came and won the game for Pakistan and his reaction while running from the ground said everything about his team mates. You guys are trying to lose the game on purpose due to money, i'll win it for my country. Just watch it if you can to get an idea. No wonder, Rashid, Ramiz, Basit were sidelined as they were repeatedly causing trouble with fixed matches. It's a known fact for decades, but seems like the jinny is coming out of the bottle again

How does Ex Cricketer Zulqarnain Haider and Saleem Malik know the amount paid to cricketers for match fixing when he claims that he has never been approached or was involved in this? Such interviews without any documentation are very damaging to Pakistan and media should be very careful in sensationalising this after so many years. To me this whole match fixing should be taken care by the police and not through media circus.

Match fixing is not done by players it is done by whole cricket boards and every single player has to involve in it and it is done by every country .
