In West Africa specifically Ghana🇬🇭. A fowl is called Akoko in the Akan language. It’s quite surreal to know that the Maroons who were descendants of the free slaves carried away from West Africa still kept some traces of the dialect

In Zimbabwe, chicken is called "Huku" in the Shona Language which is a Swahili dialect. Definitely this word which Mokko is using to describe a chicken is from Swahili which historically is the language of the Bantu people. Mokko's African roots coming out there!

Very interesting how he mashes the ackee to create a vegetarian scrambled eggs. Most natives however don't like their ackees cooked this way, in fact we take great pains in ensuring that it stays intact as much as possible while preparing it! Apparently the tourists prefer it mashed- different strokes for different folks!

Afukuku sounds like efie akukor in the Akan language of Ghana 🇬🇭. Efiee means home and akukor means fowl. The maroons originated from kromantine in Ghana 🇬🇭.

Does the skellion mean scallion? Mokko seems to always mention skellion and thyme and I never put a thought to it what skellion really is. Is it some sort of spice I don't know about or is this just regular scallion with Jamaican accent.

Right now in San Diego at least … eggs are $8.99 a dozen of the stores even have them. Cosco doesn’t even have eggs for 2 weeks now . Some kind of virus 🦠 effected the chickens here .
