Lynette and I stopped by Soma when we were waiting to be seated for brunch in Toronto last September. It was sooo good! We brought some back as gifts for all our people in New York.

I need all the details! Did you go to the factory? What did you get? That must have been so awesome! (And yeah, I so would have brought back a ton for gifts.)

@@DessertGeek The Douglas Fir was my favorite. A little more info in the post on what else we tried, would definitely return www.seiskamimura.com/home/toronto-eats-soma-chocolatemaker

Coincidentally, the chocolate birch branch you mentioned early in this video was delivered to my home' today. It is a special edition version with a tart cherry jelly center, in a truffle-like hazelnut butter, dispersed with random crispy light flakes, all enrobed in chocolate. There are no words to describe how wonderful it tastes! The flavors are deep and complex. The textures are dreamy! The chocolate has a beautiful lingering finish that adds, yet, another layer of pleasure to the experience. And it is not sickeningly sweet. Pure bliss! The quality is extraordinary! I honestly never cared for chocolate. But this one is life-changing. I had never imagined cholate could be as delicious as this. And it looks beautiful! Very luxurious! Very special! Worth every penny!

Thoroughly enjoyed this video! I love their old school and truffle selection, but have yet to try their pecans! Have you tried the mayan drinking chocolate? (spicy) it’s to die for! 😍

I'm so glad you liked it! (And you have got to try the pecans! They're so good!) And I haven't tried that drinking chocolate! I keep on getting Dark Side of the Mug and forgetting to get the others. (I'm also not very good with heat!) Are there any other bars or confections of theirs you'd recommend? I've been waiting to get the cocoa powder the second it's cooler out!

Dessert Geek Guess I can’t say I’ve had the full Soma experience because out of all the things I’ve tried, I have yet to have their bars! 🙈😅 (I used to drop in routinely and enjoy a few of their truffles with the Mayan during my work break.) I highly recommend their Baci D’ Alassio cookies and English Toffee!! I’ll certainly grab the raspberry and the Guasare during my next visit, probably with the salted caramel bar & birch branch as well! Happy tasting! 😆🍫

Visiting Soma for truffles and hot chocolate must have been so fun though! (And I keep on not buying the toffee, it does look awesome!) Happy tasting to you too, especially with those plans!

WARNING: if you eat soma chocolates, all other brands will taste like complete ass for the rest of your life. that said, if you are ordering online YOU HAVE TO TRY THE DARK FIRE!. it is the most awesome chocolate experience you can have by ordering. if you go to toronto, you need to have what they call "mayan shot" this is what chocolate was meant to be, by the gods. it will change your life. i'm not exaggerating. the experience is intense beyond your imagination.
