Thanks. I followed a different tutorial and Plex would not see the files on my 2 drives. Used this one to create a mount with the correct permissions and it works.

Thanks for the great content! I am compiling 10 terabytes of Movies, Video's, Music, and PICs. I want to see my movie content on Plex without having to turn on my laptop. Because I am new to this.... do you have info on 1) where/how to purchase the Raspberry Pi? Cost and what to expect? Do I need to request Ethernet Connection and 2 USB Ports. Do you have a suggestion as to the type of storage I should use to compile my movies? It is costing $100+ to store data on AWS s3 monthly. Thanks for all your help.

You can add external drive but mounting point has to be different. Let's say, create PLEX media folder, inside that create two folders, Drive 1 & Drive 2 and mount them

yeah its all about configuring linux permissions. try this.. find [YOURDRIVEPATH] -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \; find [YOURDRIVEPATH] -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \; Drive Path is the place where it shows media.. Use LSBLK command to see the mounting points.

the mount command (minute 8:49) does not work. I got the message "Mount is denied because the NTFS volume is already exclusively opened. The volume may be already mounted, or another software may use it which could be identified for example by the help of the 'fuser' command."

Likely this means the drive is mounted under media. Unmount it, mount drive but ensure Plex user own the disk. Put that in your fstab so it persists on reboot

Excellent guide. If it helps… my attempts met with password (raspberry) denied. Raspberry Pi Imager is the easiest fix. When you choose the destination for the OS, go to advanced settings where you'll find the options to enable ssh, add your password, and join your wi-fi network.
