@@ArjanvanVught For the hobby market? Sure/absolutely. But ST Micro will still hold fast to the industrial markets. The vast array of STM32 options available is crazy and you can tailor the choice of MCU to a product extremely well.

The "music" between segments is quite dreadful. It hurts the ears if the volume is set to adequately hear the speaker.

Thanks! Very nice! I ordered 4 to start playing with. I've been on the lookout for an Arduino upgrade, but wasn't happy with STM, nor ESP mostly because of lack of documentation. This might be it! Massimo should be worried indeed!

This new entry from the Pi guys isn't quite in the league of the ESP32, especially given the lack of wifi/bluetooth support. It seems to be better suited to compete with the STM32F line of micros although maybe it's just a product that's too little too late.
@2kBofFun
@2kBofFun 3 жыл бұрын
If compilation time is ok it might be interesting. I loathe the ESP32 for giving time to make and drink coffee while compiling. For me the most elegant board, albeith a little expensive, remains the ItsyBitsy M4. Especially how fast compilation and uploading goes. And they have decent power: 2 DAC's, 120Mhz, 2MB flash, probably outperforming a PiPico running Python. STM's look nice on paper, but they are not plug-and-play.

If you want a pocket emulator get a 2 euro EPS32 and flash ESP_8_BIT on it. It wil give you a NES, Sega Master System, Atari 400/800, XEGS, and Atari emulator. You can controll it with a bluetooth controller. Only external part is a 10NF cap for the audio.
