Thank you so much ami. The secret here is, that it's actually a camera track. So I filmed a very similar setup for real and then 3D tracked the camera data 😄

Love the chromatic aberation on the edges of the glas :D wonder why it is not visible in the clay render. As this should have been an "in camera" effect right? Indeed the #raspberry pi looks super realistic.
@SilverwingVFX6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your great comment and your nice words. You have keen eyes. The reason why the glass in the "Clay" version does not have chromatic aberration is because I turned it off in order to get shorter render-times. Since the chromatic aberration of the glass had a huge impact on it.

thats so cool how Octane can make a Magnifying Glass
@SilverwingVFX6 ай бұрын
Thank you very much. I fond it also really cool. I measured my real magnifying glass trying to get the 3D representation as close as possible. And indeed it worked. Though with the right material properties, almost every renderer would be able to do that 🔍
@0zaidi6 ай бұрын
wow! I love the camera motion and the focus hunting, the anisotropy on metals, and the whole organized randomness in the scene, I also have a question haha (never run out of those) did you use a different pass and add extra chromatic aberration in the magnifying lens or you did with via dispersion in material? the easiest and most accurate would be using dispersion, but maybe you enhanced that in post? because I can only imagine the render time if it's baked in, is the R on the keycap for Render or Real? haha maybe Raspberry 🥧
@SilverwingVFX6 ай бұрын
Ha ha thank you for your great comment once more. Fantastic to hear you like it. You seem to have watched it quite closely! To answer your question, the chromatic aberration on the lens is rendered. I set it up like the real one I have here. And it has quite a bit of CA maybe even a tad more then mine in the video 😇 The R on the keycap is for interpretation. There is also a very straight forward answer why there would be a R. But to be honest I love your inputs better 😁
@0zaidi6 ай бұрын
@@SilverwingVFX haha you're welcome and yes watched it many times, it's inspiring, I figured you'd go that route haha, i thought R is for Raphael, but my mind went he would probably sneak an SLV on the board somewhere, which can also be a reference to old harddisk setup and how the tech evolved since, but seriously man you came in with a banger like always, and congratulations on the 80lvl feature 🌟

Hi, Raphael! This is an extraordinary visualization, love that dirt on the edge of the magnifying glass!))) I know you as a great challenger and an outstanding professional, so I have a question, that is enough complicated I hope))) how to make a cubemap for the interior in octane?
@SilverwingVFX6 ай бұрын
Hey hey, thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. And yeah, it's the small things that makes it come alive. About your question: If you create a C4D camera, and create an octane camera tag on it, instead of leaving it at the default "Thin Lens" camera. You can set it to "Panoramic" There in the Panoramic settings you can set it from "Spherical" to all sorts of cube maps! Hope that even was your question and it helps 🙌 Cheers and an awesome start into the weekend to you 😎
@gv0zdysh0k6 ай бұрын
@@SilverwingVFX Thank you, Raphael! I guess that it's not exactly what I mean) This kind of cubemaps (not hdri), that I'm talking about, are mostly used in game engines due to the more strict requirements for the models. Usually, this is a specific way to set up the normals, material, or shader. For example, a huge building with lots of stages - these cube maps are used to make interiors look believable from any angle, they are like...following the camera. I wish I could send you a link to any project. Anyways thank you so much for your excellent tutorials and care about your community! Have a great weekend too!
@SilverwingVFX6 ай бұрын
@@gv0zdysh0k Thank you very much for your reply and for clarifying. Ahhhh, now I know what you mean 🙌🙌 I know those as Parallax, Room or Window-Box Shader. There are OSL scripts tat create those for Redshift. And I think someone also had ported that to Houdini Octane: oiolli.gumroad.com/l/parallaxShader I started to make my own parallax shader from scratch at some point during my active Opal development. I somewhat made it work but then dropped it, because it was not along what I initially set out to do 😇 Maybe you can make this Houdini Octane Osl Shader work for you in C4D. Cheers and an ongoing good weekend to you! Raphael

How did you get the camera movement looking so real?? I assume you recorded something and then use that video as a reference, right?

Thank you very much. I have to say you are an excellent inspector 🥇 I have made this exact setup in real life. Also as reference for the positioning and lighting. So I filmed it with my cellphone and then took the video in to C4D and tracked it there 🙌
