Maria Rasputin wrote a book about her father and their early years. A very interesting take on the story. It's called "Rasputin" and I found it in my local library. One of her father's murderers ended up here in the States as well. Any time a film about Rasputin was being made this guy had to be consulted on what went into it to keep him from sueing. He also used to phone Maria up, ugh, like some stalker. Yusapov I think his name was. Sorry if I misspelled it.

@@FacesoftheForgotten The book is definitely worth reading. It gives a fresh perspective on who Rasputin was. Maria and Varya were with their father in the Capitol when all this history went down. Of course his daughter is going to see him differently from his mortal enemies. But I don't think it's fair that only Rasputin's murderer got to tell his side of it. Good video! They claimed that Rasputin was able to hypnotize Alexis so it slowed down the internal bleeding he would have after normal childhood falls he would often experience. Alexis was the male heir apparent and the Czar and Czarina were desperate to save their only son. The Czarina became extremely dependent on Rasputin as he was the only one that was able to prolong her son’s life and that’s how he became so influential within the royal family. The Czarina Alexandria was the daughter of Queen Victoria and she was one of several daughters of the Queen that were carriers of hemophilia that passed it onto their children. This was such a terribly sad story.😔 They say that Rasputin was able to also put himself into a hypnotic trance which could slow down his blood pressure and other vital organs which was most likely the reason why it took so many attempts to kill him.

you are correct, and sadly, it was the British people who made King George V then change his mind on allowing the family to find sanctuary in England, thus dooming them all.

Interesting and well researched video. Maria was good value. A very courageous woman who just got on with it and lived a good life. Much of the information written on her father is untrue, and is the result of gossip and intrigue in pre WWI Russia, and of course none of this was contradicted by the Communist regime when they came to power. Recent research has revealed that many of the stories are nothing more than fabrication. I'm not saying Rasputin was a Saint. but he was certainly not as bad as history has remembered him. His influence over Nicholas and Alexandra has been grossly overrated. I'm in Sydney, where we have Rookwood Cemetery, the largest cemetery in the Southern Hemisphere. Am a regular visitor, and have seen graves where the ground has sunken. Some years ago a cemetery official gave me your explanation regarding the weight of the earth above a grave.
@bluesingmusic34432 жыл бұрын
A lot of the old cemeteries with unmarked graves, the graves are found by the depressions in the ground. Many have "field stones" placed at the graves, as the families were usually too poor, or in some cases slaves, to afford headstones. They're all over the South. An interesting YT channel, is Side Step Adventures. The "stars" search for old graveyards, & more often than not, they're in complete disrepair. Sadly those who once tended to their families graves, have grown too old to care for them. Many don't have the funds to pay others, sadly. This story was quite interesting, as I never knew Rasputin had children. (Mom took us to a Drive In movie, when I was very young where we saw "Rasputin The Mad Monk". I do remember them trying to poison him. But that was well over 50+ years ago. We also saw "Hard Days Night" with the Beatles there [not the same time] a lot of Jerry Lewis, Don Knotts, Elvis, movies, back then. Sadly most drive in movies are gone. There's 1 here where I live now, but I so enjoyed the whole family going to the movies.) Very interesting video.
