I keep a roll of aluminum flashing on truck, it makes a good replacement fan shroud. Easy to cut and fab .

Just changed out a Tecumseh on a Randell undercounter, used my Imperial swager for some of the re piping. That old set up is great for the refrigeration stuff. I thought I was going to crap myself laughing at the "Zoom Zoom" kids, LOL!

Amazing compressor change Guru. I was wondering if you ever use the copper spun driers like on True units? Do those football ones fit well on prep tables and such?

Apprentice Phil the C032-CAPT is the drier I use. That's the sporlan # but I use the Emerson one. It cost less. Lol. The oem driers are fine. That compressor was from 2000. 17 years on a freezer is fantastic.

i think those re pipe kits they supply are made for tecumseh condensing units...true makes their own condensing units...it does help that they give you copper thats swaged already....another great job dude 👍

I did a condenser fan motor changeout on a similar unit (ok it was a small beverage fridge at a local restaurant), thing was a nightmare and a half as it took me 3 hours. Plus there was the added bonus if it being impacted with dust bunnies and two dead rats. You can tell the thing was never meant to be serviced. For what it cost they should’ve just gone with a new unit. 🤣

Nor Cal love your videos. Question what your suction line temp and pressure on a unit like this? I have a unit compressor is run hot not sure why.

It depends on what refrigerant is in the system. basically for any freezer you want your suction pressure to convert to 5 or 10 below at the evaporator, even lower for ice cream (-20 at evap). this will give you a box anywhere from -10 to 0 degrees F.

@@NorCal-refrigeration I also repair commercial industrial fridge and freezer but I don't film them as I don't want to but I do exactly the same thing you do. I enjoy it. Yesterday late call in at 3am I had to repair a husky commercial glass door fridge as the fan and condenser were bad. Condenser was leaking and fan wasn't spinning at all. Surprisingly didn't need a new compressor as I would think it would over heat but nope compressor luckily was still good. Thanks for the video it reminds me of this exact job I do. I get paid lots of money for this as like you I do things properly unlike other people.
