It really hurts me that Binghe probably saw him as a father figure in the original novel but shen jiu just kept hurting him... The fact that if he just treated him nice Binghe would fall for him and throw away his harem really explains a lot. He just wanted someone to stay by him sife but not like those harem sisters.

I dont really think it was as a father figure but as a role model. In the extra where the og!Binghe goes to the Shen Yuan timeline he jumped at the first oportunity to be with a kind version of his Shizun, even asking him to "go with him" Not something you'd do with a father figure

I think this song fits Bingqiu quite good too. Some parts even more so than Bingjiu. Especially the line (in the full version of the song) "When I said take me to the moon I never meant take me alone", it just fits so perfectly the moment when SQQ asked LBH if he wanted to be strong and Binghe didn't know that saying yes meant being abandoned and left to suffer in the Abyss. I just imagine some kind of AU where Binghe is much more bitter and hateful about the whole 'being thrown into hell' thing and then this song fits seamlessly.
