Hearing Judy Garland makes me realize how much Liza sounded like her. Wonderful to hear them all.

Fascinating. A collection of talent we’ll never see again. Judy was known not only for a voice that comes along once in a century, but. by those close to her, for her incredible wit. So sad to see her self destruct to her demons, if she were 10 years younger she could’ve ended up in a Betty Ford and finally enjoyed herself without dependence or struggle. I only hope she’s somewhere in the heavens still enjoying her loving reviews.

What a fantastic audience of power house celebrities, circa 1955. I have never heard this audio clip before. All there for Judy's performance. She was so highly regarded by her fans and her peers.

Absolutely great audio clip. Too bad no one thought to film all those celebrities on that stage. Guess no one brought a movie camera to Judy's concert. It would have been great.

What an impressive remindering of what greatness Judy was vocally and humanly. I worship her and so did all the luminaires of the time

These old talents did not need scantily clad dancers squirming around behind them, manipulated audio, or smoke machines. They were classy & respectful to their audiences in their dress and demeanor. Boy could they sing and LIVE! No lip synching.

Great to hear audio from this event we've read about for years. Hearing these stars live and unscripted from way back in 1955 is amazing.

Imagine a bunch of superstars taking a private booze-bus to happily see the biggest star of them all (Judy) in concert, and surprising an audience with a memory like THIS. Those were the DAYS, and how. Judy was superb that night. (Heh … Sid Luft gets short-shrift. Oh, Judy.)

July 9, 1955; the day that the music scene changed forever. It was on that day that Rock Around the Clock by Bill Haley and His Comets hit #1 on the Billboard charts, signifying the start of the Rock Era.

Dialogue with snapshots. Requires fanhood of Bogart, Sinatra, Bacall, or Garland, to listen without video.

It would have been wonderful to have had a video or a film clip of this talented assemblage but unfortunately just the audio will have to do and we should be grateful for having it. In only a few short months from this event, in early 1956, Humphrey Bogart would be diagnosed with esophageal cancer from which he would never recover. Following surgery he spent the remainder of the year slowly dying, finally succumbing to the disease in January, 1957.

Frank in no way avoided Judy. In fact he was the one responsible for paying for Judy's Funeral despite the fact LIZA RAISED the money.. He was appalled by the fact that she wasn't properly buried and was in an interim crypt.

Thanks! Amazing to have all these legends on stage together. Is this perhaps the first performance of the Frank, Sammy and Dean Rat Pack? I knew Frank had introduced Sammy into Bogie's Rat Pack back in the '40s, but I hadn't realized Dean was hanging around with them at this stage.

What giants of the entertainment world! If only they had taken better care of themselves: Judy, Bogart, Errol Flynn, Clark Gable. They might have lived 'til the 1980's!

Judy Garland looks so much thinner in the still photographs at the party held for her after the Premiere of A Star Is Born in 1954. It's true that the TV Cameras add 10 -15 lbs on a person. She was about 3 months pregnant with her last child, Jospeh. These are great pictures and I always loved the Picture of Judy Garland laughing & having such a blast with, Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin at 1:44 - 1:54 during her 1962 CBS TV special rehearsal.

@JadeTomZ George Jacob's "My Life with Mr.S" is what you're going by as well- written, carefully researched, and objective source material? Wow, but . . . . okay. Sure. Pete Hamill's "Why Sinatra Matters" is a great overview of Sinatra's entire life but a definitive biography that pulls all the strings together is probably decades away. You're comments have made my day. Thank you. And so it goes.

@NFitalianGuy Mr. Sinatra most certainly did NOT pay for Judy's funeral. I know for fact that Liza Minnelli paid the bill. Mr. Sinatra made a lot of hoopla about buying a great crypt in Ferncliff for her -- he was to raise the money -- but he lost interest in the cause, and nearly a YEAR after her death (her remains were held in Ferncliff's storage fault (morgue-like setup), Liza quietly had Judy's body interred in a modest crypt without any fanfare.
