Now I can't stop watching the black dot go around! LOL! Mesmerizing.

I can't believe they did not design an indicator for it. I guess I'll have to do that - just have to figure out what it should be. Thanks for watching

Thanks for watching and the sub! Ask any questions - I'll try and answer them and help if possible. You might start reading the assembly guides and watch some build videos. I have referenced them in previous videos. Take your time and if you don't understand a step look for help. Some of the instructions are confusing. Good luck on your build, what version did you order?

@ thanks for the tips buddy! I ordered the VCore 4 500 with the idex upgrade

@@nullvoid413 I hope you enjoy it. I have two V-core 3 Rat Rigs a 400 and a 500 - like the 4 better, it is built more solid and they made some great improvements. I may get another v-core 4 - 500 will see, so far so good.

Hey looks like you got it moving right along. That a big printer. We knew you would get rolling right along after awhile. Thanks for the update. Now we will see what creations come off of it. Take care

Would love to see a comparison between v-core 4 and a Bambu. Especially comparing quality and how much tuning is required. I’m on the fence between the two. I don’t mind doing the assembly but I’m tired of the endless tuning needed on my current printer just to get so-so quality. I’m looking for something that once set-up doesn’t need significant tuning to get good results. The bambu stuff looks good, but it is smaller than I want and the idex intrigues me.
@woodwaker1Ай бұрын
I would say if you don't need the size, the Bambu X1C with AMS would probably be better. If you could benefit from the almost 4 times the bed size, the Rat Rig. You might also wait to see what Bambu comes out with for their large format. I'm fortunate that I have multiple printers that I can pick for a specific project. Two that can print multiple colors and a few with big bed sizes. Thanks for watching and the good question.

Thanks Dan, now to start moving things around, but you know what that is like, too many printers and too little space.

Good luck. I tried to keep the wiring neat, but so many are just too long and I didn't want to cut them and have to put new connectors on..

Thanks Steve, sorry I just saw your comment. It is a beast and I'm running it slow until I get it tuned in. So far it is doing a great job. I just posted a video where I'm printing Christmas cards almost all of the way across. The first layer is coming out great over almost 500mm square.

@@woodwaker1 Thanks for the update. I have been thinking about getting a larger format printer, but the desk next to my PC is already full with 3 Prusas. Anything bigger would have to go downstairs where it is not as useable.

@@stevesclocks Steve, That's why all mine are in the basement. We are fortunate to have them here, and it is a great place to keep them - the noise never makes it to the living area. That is why I have added wifi cameras so I can watch them. I think one of the new Rat Rig V-core 4 would be a good fit for you.

you need a ptfe tube anchored on both sides, and the filament passing through for the sensor to detect the jam

Nice build. Are you going to crank the speed?
@woodwaker113 күн бұрын
I may try later, it's on a shaky platform now, and moves a lot. I find that slower results in better quality, so try and find a middle between speed and good results. I'm working on a new way to hold the Rat Rig - keep watching

@@woodwaker1 I'm the same, I like slower quality prints. I am really considering the Ratrig v4, do you think the hybrid system is necessary if I want to print at similar speeds to a Bambu printer on a ratrig 500mm?
@woodwaker112 күн бұрын
@@kimzor1989 The hybrid is really a good addition. I tried some prints without it being connected and had some layer shifts. Once I got it added, no more problems. All it does is move the carriage front to back. That is where most of the mass is, the core X-Y takes helps, but mostly moves the hot end left to right. It is an inexpensive option and not too hard to install. I did not get the Idex, as it was not ready and it is much more expensive. I have two multi material printers, so did not really need it.

David, I'm looking at this printer and the Voron. What made you choose the RatRig?
@woodwaker115 күн бұрын
I purchased my first Rat Rig a 400 cube V-core 3 about 3 years ago, the size and at that time no real Voron kits. I think the Rat Rig V-core 4 is a much better system - better build and improvements over the 3 or 3.1. I am thinking about getting a second one, but am working with my V-vore 3.1 trying to convert it to the Coprint system.

Do you think the VC4 500 can be tuned to print as well as the Bambu X1C? I need a printer that can print very large and tall prints ~450^3 near perfectly. Thanks
@woodwaker1Ай бұрын
I think it can, I adjusted the speed down, and am getting some great prints. I'll post a video soon showing some. The speed in Prusa Slicer was AAA350mm - way too fast, I lowered it to 100mm/sec.

Thanks, I did not get the Idex, for a couple of reasons, the time wait and the cost, I want to see others and may retrofit this one. The Hybrid is a good improvement and was very cost effective.

If you have a knowledge of building any kind of kits and some skill with electronics - take your time and watch you-tube videos. There are some good ones that were live streams. I used them for reference when I was not sure of a step. If you do get one stay with the recommended parts list.

It's a fast machine?????? Because of the size???
@woodwaker1Ай бұрын
It can be run very fast because it is well built and a Core xy is designed to be fast. It also has two motors to just assist in moving the carriage. I have mine running at less than half of the max speed, and is still one of my fastest printers. The large size is actually a drawback to speed, since there is so much mass to move quickly.
