That's awesome David! Can't wait to get mine moving! Sorry to see the damage on your build plate. Luckily it's one of the easiest parts to replace. Great demo of the filament sensor, good to see its working as intended. I'm sure there's a way to add manual confirmation for the printer to continue printing.

I like the filament sensor demo. That is pretty slick. The dot was a good idea. I would have never noticed that spinning.

Thanks Scott, I was baffled as to what it was doing until I added the dot. It can move the plastic forward or backward and slow or fast, but I had no way of telling. The programming is interesting, I'm trying to understand someone else's code and figure out what to change. The good part is it is in simple English tags and commands. So far I have removed some of the functions to try and get the main ones working. The sensor itself in a vast improvement on what we have been using in the past and is very inexpensive - about $15, it has a small board with logic on the inside than can measure no filament and resistance the exceeds a certain amount - meaning there is a jam.

Hate to hear you did exactly what I did to my deck board. It’s looking it’s coming along pretty good. We know you will get it dialed in. That’s for sharing the update. Take care there Sir.

Great to see another vcore 4, I’m building one as well. Any tips to not mess up the build plate in the beginning?

I was confused as to what nozzle to use, figured out that you need the externsion and one of the two supplied nozzles, I used the .4 mm steel and that seemed to be the correct height. I did not heat tighten them and the result was they were about 2mm to low. When I ran the Z adjustment using the test print, it plowed into the bed. I stopped it as quickly as possible, but learned a lesson
