I’m going to pin your comment because i’ve seen these questions a lot. I hope thats okay :) The world seed is “onion” set at 30% coverage. I set the locations, colors, names, relationships, etc. of the factions using the mod “faction customizer”. The mod allows you to edit A LOT about the factions so it was the main tool when setting everything up. Hope this helps! P.S. i love you guys

Boyles Story, my thoughts I think he didn't want to betray the group, he actually wanted to help and be bigger than what he was as a thug (albeit a smarter one given his xenotype) however when his 'best friend" told him it was time to betray them, and get the goods they obviously were withholding from them, Boyle took this moment to run, he knew he couldn't convince them he wanted to join. So he ran, and ran, in the dark fighting someone who he thought was an enemy, he didn't mean to stab him, it was an accident. He would continue to run, now fearing the retribution of people who he betrayed Then the thrumbioans found him, they gave him a choice, fight for them or they kill him. He was scared and lead them to the others, maybe if he was lucky they would fall first and Boyle could drop his weapon, beg for his life and explain everything. Sadly the great storyteller in the sky had other ideas as he was the first to fall to the ground. When Richard found him on the ground after the fight, Boyle's throat was shot, he could only silently plead as the one eyed man aimed his gun at him, he wanted to beg, tell him he was sorry for betraying them. All he could gasp out was what sounded like "Sor-" before Richard finished the job

ah, a rightful read from a name im already femilure with for the best of writing skill. as much as i often do i have some ability to think a story well out so much so i get sidetracked world building even if 99% of the time it becomes forgotten, oh and often unfinished. maybe ill spend a bit more time trying to write some shit at somepoint as this reminds me of what i can run on. as somedays i just need a reecees and a random idea that was flying by that made something click.

I've been rewatching the full series over the last few days and am so glad you're still doing this. It's my favourite rimworld format to enjoy whilst I play along with my cherry Dr. Pepper. Not opposed to you selling non-gun stuff when it's just thrown in with gun stuff, personally.

I think something that may be cool is to branch out into combat equipment in general. Maybe just be an overall “Combat suppler” so, helmets, armor, weapons. Move into making artillery shells stuff like that. You could even get into bionics, increasing combat power?? Who knoooows

from a business perspective it actualy makes sense to sell off excess goods to produce items that your company would primarily work with...for example if a machining company came across a large coal deposit they would sell it off to recoup costs lost in other needs within the business.

There are several mods that normalize trading prices, but I believe there is one that specifically tackles weapon prices can't remember now though. This is the one I mostly use: The Price Is Right

you could sell combat drugs alongside guns if you want to limit yourself on what to sell. I think it would make perfect sense for such a group to want to double dip and be able to sell weapons and drugs that makes you better at shotting with them.

I think they should sell all kind of things like a black market empire instead of only weapon dealers cuz usually military organizations buy them in bulks thus limiting their chance to get money if they only sell guns, so they should be smuggling all kind of "illegal" things such as drugs, organs, and slaves etc.

I dont know if you are aware( probably you are but just trying to help), guns and armor( i think) have a negative multiplier to their trade value, wich means that you get a fraction of the gun value, i would say to download a mod that removes that( probably there is one), and thus make your empire more lucrative.

The balistic shields are amazing if you're running combat extended if you use sawed off shotguns, though it seems like you're not using CE so maybe not

ON the subject of the products you sell, I think as long as it's not something produced there shouldn't be an issue selling things you don't need, especially with raid coming along. Worst case scenario, you could give away excess uneeded items as gifts to customers.

On item trading fkr early economics: Sell early, sell often. Your GOING to reach a point Componets are a "purchase-only" bottleneck, and effectively ALL guns NEED componets. This is 90% of the reason why EDBs preoare carefully always has people spawn like 500K componets, they are a NIGHTMARE to find later on
