Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of one of India's biggest conglomerates, Tata Sons, has died at 86. Just on Monday, the industrialist in a social media post had dismissed speculation surrounding his health and had said he was undergoing routine medical investigations due to his age.
N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, in a late night statement on Wednesday, announced the death of Mr Tata, hailing the industrialist's unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation.
"It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation," said Mr Chandrasekaran.

Although the loss of my father was deeply personal, the loss of Ratan Tata feels like a shared sorrow, one that impacts the entire nation. In his absence, his legacy will continue to inspire us. Ratan Tata’s passing is a void that will be hard to fill, and his dedication to India’s growth and progress remains a guiding light. We miss him dearly, and his influence will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched. In my heart, I hope for a rebirth of Ratan Tata-a chance for him to once again lead the Tata Group and guide us toward a brighter future. Having said that Britishers especially after 1857, did not persecute businessmen nor harrass them with unnecessary procedures or with too much red tape. Overseas travel was easier, Banking was easier, Licenses were easier to get - most of it was above board especially in Direct British Administered States like Bombay or Calcutta which is why merchants flourished in these cities - especially the Parsis from the Iranian Communities.
