According to devs in Discord, there was an audio problem while streaming and does not have the problem in the game. They plan to fix the streaming audio in the future, but rest assured, in-game sound does not have this problem.

Already saw the stream and gameplay but wanted to add that it's nice of you to reupload it so that people can see it. °However, to everyone here in the comments telling that this is alpha footage and/or content that's still not public : This IS NOT alpha footage, this video right there was from a PUBLIC and OFFICIAL Ratatan stream that was organized on Steam on December 30th. Not a lot of people were aware of it since it was only being mentionned in the Steam page of Ratatan. But this wasn't some alpha footage that GamersPrey stole or leaked on KZbin. There are quite some stuff that weren't even shown before, let alone in the alpha. And I would 100% know what I'm talking about as I was myself an alpha tester for the game. So, in conclusion, this isn't alpha footage that was stolen it's official gameplay footage from a public stream that was put up on Steam. The Stream also came with a QnA session, but most people remember the stream for the gameplay footage and Kamonelo. °Also, small note, but the game is in fact not entirely polished, however, it's important to not use repetitive and same-ish arguments when talking about the game and alpha/betas. The unpolished stuff from the alpha/beta are currently being worked on, and they mostly focused on the main structure of the game for now, then the more unpolished and unfinished stuff and bits will be touched later on (as any games should be developped). Most complaint that weren't about the unpolished nature of the alpha were taken into account during the alpha testing phase and will be taken care of. Important to remember that the game will also have a free Steam demo containing one stage for the next Steam Fest in February, so it could be a good opportunity to try the game out for yourself and give your own opinion that may help the developpement team. The audio mixing seems all over the place, the Interlude music is loud as hell compared to the rest, but its looking pretty nice, the Boss Fight in particular, its the in between that seems iffy.

While there are some small quirks to be worked on there are also so many new interactions and mechanics to master which makes me really exited. The fact that the heroes don't seem to attack and 100% rely on the minions (Other than skills) makes it differ from another Patapon 3 for example. I can see so many new experiences that still comes with an amazing gameplay (Such as the free movement). I do wish that they give some choice within the preferences or accessibility options to change between the [Bar Note] And [Beat Frame] because it can be a little intrusive to have the Bar always on display but I fully trust on their design process. Music so far has been on point.

its ALPHA guys, i am super happy to see some EARLY work that shows most basic gameplay, audio and BGM issues are visible but this is just part of what an ALPHA is, those can be fixed later but gameplay issues that might be found or balance issues are what have to be fixed here first, People are used to see ALPHA version of games that are actually how the game is released later on, I have hope on the devs tho.

The devs need to cook the game a bit longer. This game isn't ready to release yet for sure. Like the chants and immediate fever mode feels very awkward between waves. I believe the devs know exactly what they're doing

Woah I definitely love the free movement! In the original Patapon, it's always a problem because evasion is tied to the beat while the enemy's actions aren't. If the boss' pattern desyncs from the 4 beat measure you are royally screwed until you lose the Fever and hard reset your beat. It seems that here you don't have such an unfair handicap anymore

@yuridanylko the problem is the bosses sometimes DON'T move rythmically. They wind up before you can input PonPata so by the time they strike, you're still in range. Maybe if the boss is weak enough, you can take one of these stray hits before staggering them (therefore resetting THEM). But if the boss one shots you? Good luck

@yuridanylko even if you PonPata twice, you can't retreat twice in a row. There will always be 4 beat of you just standing there inputting the PonPata command, and at that time you get one shot.

In Patapon 3, there is an option to turn on/off the voice of command input. I have that voice turned off because I'm used to Patapon 1/2's drum-beat command and find that voice is very distracting and make me cannot hear the background music well. I hope Ratatan will have the same option cuz I cannot hear the background music whenever the command input voice yells into my ears. Also, the sound effects like when opening gates should be lowered down cuz they mute the background music again. For a music game with nice background music, dev team should keep background music instead of muting/lowering volume, and tune sound effects to be less overwhelming.

Am I the only one who secretly want to get a zoom in..? 😂 Patapon had like 70% of the screen focusing on those eyeballs troop, while now 50% of it contains the background.. It's good and pleasing to eyes since the graphics are amazingly good! It's just my eyes---- @v@ I need a bigger glasses

We're in the alpha stage, so things are looking good! There's something I really want to point out later on Discord. It's about the rhythm input. I’d prefer it if, when the player doesn’t input any command and there's an empty note in Ratata, it counts as a miss. I feel like we need the player to maintain their commands in sync with the rhythm as the battle progresses. Also, I’d love it if, whenever players enter a new area or pass through a floor gate, the sound transitions smoothly and matches the song's stage. Other than that, I’m really satisfied with everything so far and can’t wait to play the full version!

In Patapon, we just mow everything down on our way to Earthend, nothing stops us even when the enemy is begging not to progress. So yes, we in Patapon are very brutal. Then again it's also the enemies fault not letting us pass through

My biggest issue is how the music and flow stops and starts. I hope they come up with some way to sync the music to the opening of the gates and shops and stuff. Even if they put a countdown before starting again after entering a shop so that the music can flow smoothly. One of the best parts of the Patapon games was how you can enter Fever and your dudes would be partying the entire level.

I feel like the rougelite element where we choose (buffs?) kindof breaks some of the immersion for me. The pause doesn't feel right, I'm used to having one continuous beat from start to end like Patapon even if it took me 14-30 mins the music never felt dull. These breaks between doors feels wrong, maybe something like the totem poles in Patapon would do? Like we keep the beat going while choosing the buffs, we just have to memorize what pictures does what and input beats according to which buffs we'll take. Another take is the bars in the middle, I feel like the game holds your hands too much like that and it's a little distracting. Drawing comparisons in Patapon again like the rainbow boarders we get from beats are perfect, however turn it to something different, I don't know how but something unobstrutive but still adds to the experience while also being functional guiding your beats. Often I get so immersed with my army I barely notice the boarders anymore just the music. Having the lines and commands appearing in the middle would be distracting, I think, my eyes would pay more attention to it than my cute little army, such a shame too, the movements they're full of personality, I love the (frog? Penguin?) second character's running animation. Other than those two things everything looks super cute, adorable and nostalgic.

20:44 "the boss is approachinging fast!" fresh Hub area, UI just ok, but Fever bar ? what does it mean ? it always in fever mode, there is no reward or punishment, because every so called "interval" the beat stop and "battle" again , i mean what is the purpose of this "Rythm Game" mean, if making some interval area, make the stage more fluidly transitioning. they are funny character, and the minion ? troop? they need to follow the leader command, just simple motion reacting to the user action, makes the group even more alive. and beat bar need to be replaced, as it is 8-beat, 4 set up, 4 action, so the rainbow bar is not flying outside the bar itself. or maybe can be turned off in settings. oh and in 39:52 what is that? transition ? dev needs to cook it more, in modern era, they can release alpha, beta, demo version, so the user or community can helping improve the game best regards, hope the dev is really care about the community, create the game, maybe not for all. but patapon 3 is released in 2011, so refreshing to see some kind patapon-like game, good luck devs

Was about to write a comment about it. If loading on currently available hardware takes this long, then there’s some serious debloating to be done. Such a long loading time is bad EVEN for alpha. Patapon was loading faster on a freakin’ PSP… This would make grinding for XP unbearable for me lol. I just hope they didn’t go with Unity or Godot for the game’s engine. That would be an overkill…

Ratatan have weird pacing with all these shops between fights. Plus no real difference between coop and single fights in terms of enemies. And this meter in bottom of the screen.. I wonder if you can go asynchronous with it, because boss can, and it's really annoying And my personal opinion, but I disappointed with Pyokorappa voice, it sound much less energetic than in OST.

From the looks of it looks like it's going to be more similar to Cult of the lamb where you keep your stats and still has RPG elements (10:56) rather than individual experiences. Each level is rogue like but that's how it was on the Patapon games as well.
