I completed this game a few days ago on PS5. I wanted to go for 100% it started good for me, I didn't expect console quality. Then eventually I stopped having fun. With the weak weapons and gigantic health pools of the enemies and bosses I thought I was doing something wrong. The strength of small 'goon' enemies was ridiculous. I only played a small amount of this on PSP as a kid (literally just Pokitaru) so i got it as soon as the ps5 version released. I enjoyed it at first but the amount of bullets you had to put into 1 enemy was ridiculous. My favourite part of wrapping up an R&C game is going back to the final boss to annihilate them with the RYNO but with this game, a whole round of RYNO bullets took the tiniest bit of health from him

I agree that the game isn't as good as the ps2 originals, but saying it isn't fun is just your personal opinion. I didn't really have a problem with limitations since the enemies didn't require advanced techniques to destroy. If they had flying enemies what required you to aim upwards while running, then we would have had a problem. I feel like this game could have been really cool, but the story was pretty lame and there were too many maxi-games, which left us with little Ratchet gameplay. And the maxi-games were basically useless in challenge mode considering the best way to get bolts was to just play as Ratchet. I just wish I could have been in the studio during Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank's production to nudge them in the right direction and point out some easily fixable flaws. Basically every Ratchet and Clank after Deadlocked missed the mark.

From what i've seen and played of PSP games. It seems they tried to add artificial forms of longevity into each of them. For this game its the difficulty combined with the high bolt prices. For others its collectibles that you use for a multiplayer mode. Not saying these aspects are exclusive to the PSP library but its a pattern I have noticed.

@@RETRObutionofficialWell a game like crisis core has an excess of side missions and Daxter which you mentioned has collectibles which fuel a multiplayer mode. It is arguably kind of a bad game. The story is pretty uninspiring except for a few moments. The gameplay is clunky and as you said it's an unbalanced and a total downgrade from the other games which would be weird considering it's canonically after Deadlocked. Despite that I do appreciate the game's existence as a huge fan of R&C. It's nostalgic and has a certain charm and atmosphere about it. The unbalanced nature of the game is what I kind of like and also weirdly despite perhaps being the worst game in the franchise you can have a lot of fun playing it even though admittedly it will make you want to break something at times.

It's for sure a bottom tier Ratchet game, but personally i think it did a decent job keeping what Ratchet is at its core but for handheld. Lots of series came to DS and PSP snd had to completely switch genre due to hardware limitations. I enjoy Size Matters enough, its for sure janky and frustrating at times though. I found the platinum trophy pretty fun and quick, not bad for $15. It's poor balancing is indefensible however and 100% a valid enough reason for anyone to dislike it.

5:15 patience issue, you didn’t jump at the right time for the flower hence why you didn’t make the jump, that’s on you. the camera isn’t weird, it’s just closer & i have no idea what you’re on about in terms of glitches lmao. the weapons again are a patience issue, sure there is padding for the game to force you to revisit older planets to level up guns but like; Going Commando & Tools of Destruction do the EXACT same thing. the weapons are fine when you’ve maxed them out with the exception of the Concussion Gun which is only for smaller enemies for some reason & it’s not a shotgun it’s just similar to one lol…the rest do a serviceable job as you expect. 6:46 seriously? 😂 use the shield bro c’mon that’s what it’s there for & if you’ve played the previous Ratchet games you should barely be getting hit anyways…7:42 Dropship just takes patience, focus on the ship with the Duel Lacerators & the odd Acid Bomb, Agents of Doom will take care of the other enemies & use the PDA if you run out of ammo, there is not a bad bolt economy in this game, people who say that aren’t playing R&C properly as smashing everything (not just crates) is STANDARD Ratchet gameplay at this point. 8:24 that’s what the PDA is for… 8:50 this is very fair for Luna tbh, the checkpoints for her boss fight aren’t very good i’ll give you that. 9:10 it’s a more difficult Ratchet game; the worst at the time but absolutely not a bad game at all Ratchet games are unique & there isn’t anything like them, Size Matters is still a great game when judged on its own & when judged within the series; it’s still serviceable. 9:34 this literally doesn’t matter at all lmao 9:45 it’s a bit odd yeah but it’s a PSP game, it’s just performed a little differently, crouch for a split-second & THEN do it, works every time. Also the final boss is easy as well, does he one shot you? yeah but if you have the shield for everytime he hits you, you’ll be fine. Using the Shock Rocket (should be near maxed out at this point) to take down his shield & then the Laser Tracer (at least Lvl. 3) you will literally beat Otto within 2 minutes. It’s only difficult for people who are rushing through it; a lot of PSP games suffer from padding but calling them bad games because of it, especially Size Matters, is ludicrous.
@RETRObutionofficial3 ай бұрын
So just because a lot of PSP games suffer from padding then you can excuse this? I mean if they're all bloated then they're all bloated and its a valid criticism. As for the PDA, I think its a stupid decision, why not balance the ammo counts, enemy health and crate drops so you don't need a PDA to make the bosses tolerable
