Always good to help a friend out with their car. This time it's on a 2014 Camaro SS. Watch as we fly by the seat of our pants installing the new tail lamps. Conversion harness was purchased at Gen5DIY.com

In order to upgraded to RS Tail Lamp I must purchase light harness separately?

Where did you order that tail light bro ? Mine is dead and couldn’t find anywhere other than order from dealer for $750.

Good work!! Looks super nice!! So I need some feedback on how that harness from "Gen5DIY" is doing? I hear from some that they had problems. Anyways I purchased these same tailights for my camaro and I'm assuming I need this same harness, just bugs me that it cost $250 in Gen5DIY...wish more companies make these harnesses

We did have a flickering issue from not mounting the resistors to the chassis (DOH!) but Gen5DIY sent some new ones and they're back to working properly. Not impossible to make your own harness. Buying one just saves time since the R&D is already done.

Did you leave the 100 w SJ dangling behind the rubber grommet? Will it’s heat be any problem with the grey material covering the grommet ?
@ratchetlegion85215 жыл бұрын
Hi Erick I’m not quite sure what your question is? What is dangling? Grey material and heat? If I remember correctly everything should be as close to factory as we could make it.

What if you already have the H ID lights and you want to convert them back to LED lights with the same harness work

Did u do it??

So I cant install them without the harness??cause imma upgrade mines to but I thought it was easy just installing them and that. So i have to buy a harness for it to work
@ratchetlegion85213 жыл бұрын
They use different connectors and the LED tails need a resistor as well. The harness just converts the connectors and adds the resistor. This harness just makes it plug and play versus having to make or modify your own which is possible.

How much would you pay a junk yard for those tail lights?
@ratchetlegion85215 жыл бұрын
Honestly. 300-400. Chase got his 280 plus 30 dollars shipping. Then he bought the 209 dollar harness
