Fun Fact: Reiko was actually meant to be a reincarnated/in disguise Shao Khan who would rise to power once again after the fall of Shinnok. even if it was that, it would be illogical. why would Kitana just turn and leave Edenia, considering she's the princess, especially right as it was rebuilding? would she really leave Queen Sindel to do that alone, just to pursue her passion? Kitana isn't just a princess in the sense of standing around looking pretty, she's a stateswoman and a lady of war. that's why she offers to bring Liu Kang to Edenia, not the other way around. and i'm sure Liu Kang knew this too.

Despite the lame cgi, Liu Kang's ending would actually be really interesting. Since, becoming King of Edenia, he would have to give his title of champion to a new fighter (protagonist) moving the story forward. Too bad they didn't follow that canon
