I am 60 years old and have fished my whole life. I’ve always hated using a crank bait and most times I did try using one it sucked. I kept reading about working a square bill through tree tops until one day I tied one on and tried. Wow! What a eye opener on not only catching them but how well you can worm it over the tree limbs!

Fished with Robb Reel and Robert Lee on the CA Delta in the mid 2000’s and the Speedtrap was the bait of choice 💯💯💯 if you didn’t have one tied on you weren’t gonna catch’em!

Thank MD...DC & JDub... Fun and informative . I fish shallow more often than most. Just haven't had much big lake experience cuz I can't really travel at the moment. But I fish my river and she's running high AF right now. But, usually I'm in that 5 ft or less range in my smaller stretch of the river. I know there's some much deeper parts, but again... Transportation is kinda O.O.C at the moment along with the inflatable yak. Just need time to get em back to 100.

I'm a Delta rat and I use the RC lure and have used it for almost 30 years it is my go-to bait by far I can go real slow over the weeds and it floats right out of the weeds grabs I can reel it down fast bring it down to the rocks it just does it I've caught from bluegill crappie striped bass largemouth smallmouth Pike minnow and salmon off of that lure nothing but RC green copper

Wat up mark. I have a question for you. Have you seen any average angler/ content creator flip and pitch over cat tails on a public pressured pond and set the hook on a 7 pounder, get the fish back and over the cat tails and land it in seconds. I can’t find anything on KZbin to help me flip and pitch heavy cover from the banks on public ponds that can help me out. So I learned how to flip and pitch heavy cover on my public ponds landing a 7 pounder and a lot more with no issues. Just watching you fish I can pick up and learn tips to actually help me out. You gotta see it to believe it and it’s all on my channel bro no cap. Cali style and the delta wave. 👍

DC was right in his initial honesty: squarebills are 🗑 🚮. Ricky Clunn might make 'em work, but I'd rather swim a jig, stroke a Pit Boss on a Hardhead, throw a blade, or jerk a 110, 110Jr, 110Jr+1, or a Duo Realis. That said, the Lucky Craft pearl threadfin 1.5 is the one.
