Ratina Z - a true Jumping Legend with a Heart of Gold | Horses of History | FEI ICONS

Ratina Z was undoubtedly one of the best Jumping horses that ever lived. With Germany's Ludger Beerbaum, Ratina began a series of outstanding accomplishments. They won Team Gold at the FEI World Equestrian Games™ in 1994, another Team Gold at the Summer Olympic Games Atlanta in 1996. In 1997, they produced a stunning performance at the FEI European Championships in Mannheim, Germany, where they were crowned Individual and Team champions. Heart of gold ? At first she was hardly rideable, it was untill Piet Raymakers was given the chance to make the difference and even Ludger Beerbaum needed quite some time to become a combination with her. Yes she was a exceptional horse, no she didn't have a heart of gold.

A horse with that kind of record would need to have heart. That is a different kind of heart than some kid's pony.
