Plus it's an unusually big burn spell so is larger scale than most pyroclasm effects, and whether through AI learning or total accident the name is also referencing a dragon, Niv-Mizzet the Firemind. It might be the most cohesive AI card I've seen in these streams.

Sword of Minds states "Mana value" so I would assume it does change the name to "One white mana" and the thought of someone having to say "I tap one white mana for one black mana" makes it an amazing un-set card

One tactic I've seen is if you have a spell that destroys power x or greater creatures, you can buff the opponent's creature to target it with that spell. So this would negate those as well. That could actually be a very viable card.

Swords of Minds is an incredible counter to Pithing Needle. Your opponent needles your Bloodstained Mire, you rename your fetch One, now it works again

For asishen you don't need to do the adventure in order to cast the spell part of an adventure card, so if you don't want to take the time to counter an opponent's creature with darn ram you can just cast asishen for 3 to pay 1, draw 1, and return it to hand. Seems like it's just begging to be broken

Sword of Minds can allow you to have an extra one of a legendary land. You change the name of the first one and play the other one, and since they now have different names the legendary rule do not affect them.

Edit: This post is incorrect as was pointed out just below. Remember kids, don't drink and comment. Yeah Sword of Mana seems to have a few creative uses. There are a bunch of legendary cards which specifically mention their own name. So it could be used to run multiple Gaea's Cradle OR it could be used to completely shut down some enemy lands like Dark Depths since they references their own name in the card text. So if you can use its positive effect and your enemy doesn't want its negative effect it can be decent. I'd definitely call it a sideboard option.

39:25 Deador of Stars shows an interesting quirk in rules. Phrased how it is, basic lands will lose ability to tap for mana, but most other lands won't. By saying "target land becomes an artifact creature" without saying anything else, that means that the target will lose the type Land. That also means any subtypes are lost including basic land subtypes like Swamp, Forest, etc. Basic land subtypes are weird because it is the type itself that is tied to and grants the ability to tap for mana. When something becomes a Swamp land, it in intrinsically gains "tap to add {B}". When it ceases to become a swamp, the ability also leaves. Other lands though? Their abilities are not linked to the card type. If a pain land stops being a land but keeps all abilities, it keeps both the mana abilities. Only the cards with basic land subtypes will lose their mana ability associated with that land type. Other abilities (like on Moonring Island) would still stay.

52:28 The only thing Mataba's second ability does is let all players look at the order of cards in their libraries. It tells you to search for X creatures, but X is zero, and it doesn't have you reveal them anyways. So no cards are revealed this way, none go onto the battlefield under your control. And then everyone puts their library in two piles, but this doesn't change the order of cards in your library and it doesn't make you shuffle or change the order, so it's basically pointless that they're in two piles. But hey, 2/2 flying haste for 3, look at your library.

The ai cards are great because half the time they'll look like an actual card with a perfect replication of the rules and wording and then end off suddenly with "sacrifice your player", and the other half of the time its zibers from start to finish.

For one white mana that is a decent card. My first instinct is to put it with the eye of ugin so I can have two and reduce the cost of eldrazi by 4 mana And if I get really lucky and increase the mana cost of sword of minds to 2 and then 3 I could get up to 8 mana discount on eldrazi. Also the ability isn't optional and doesn't say opponent, so if you've already converted your opponent's lands, and you cast a Spirit or Arcane spell, you have to start hitting your own lands.

Just found out about your coverage of these AI cards! I'm the submitter for Asishen and Love Nenrant... so happy that people are enjoying discussing these and exploring the weird possibilities the AI comes up with. One note about Love Nenrant's first ability: I interpret it to mean, "whenever Love Nenrant deals damage, tap it and it doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step". It's just strangely worded by virtue of the AI's borked up grammar.

48:00 You can suspend a Legendary Instant or Sorcery even if you don't control a Legendary Creature or Planeswalker at the time. However you better get one by the time the suspend goes off, or you won't be able to cast the spell and it will stay in exile without any time counters on it. Since the last time counter will never be removed again, it will never try to cast again. If you somehow get another time counter on it, then it will lose that time counter in your next upkeep and try to cast itself again.

Ones I really liked: Asishen (Darn Ram), Firemind, Love Nenrant, Beghemard Mind, Power of Shattered Idusive, and Predatory Scout. The nonsensical ones often gave me a good laugh at least, but of course they're doomed to the shredder. Also, I kinda wish Collective Arcade was one or more of the party creature types, since that one seemed really cool to me as well, especially with the pixel art of the arcade machines with the guy standing in between them. And, it's a shame Slayer of the Hold Catrappe doesn't have flying, despite being an angel and clearly having wings in the art (like Whippoorwill), but he still seems quite good.

Also, the thing about Flagstones isn’t an issue. A card that refers to its name always refers to itself. It’s like when the Nichol Bolas from War of the Spark copies the Jace ability that makes non-legendary copies of itself. Or an easier example: the clone legend that keeps its own name would always refer to itself if the creature it copied refers to itself.

Zealous Votaration basically has indestructible but better because it's power and toughness can't be changed, and this would assume would be the case including battle damage. So you can't get rid of it unless you use removal in the form of kill spells or exile spells that aren't dependent of damage or reduction of stats.

It does however allow you to have atleast an additional copy of the same legendary land in play, since the legendary mechanic is based on the card name.

Zealous Votoration has some interesting implications considering it's static ability. This would be a good card to use in combination with Godhead of Awe since Godhead of Awe makes all other creatures 1/1. Zealous would ignore said ability with it's own and remain a 2/2 and allow it to survive any 1/1s with First Strike. Going against a Godhead of Awe, Zealous has Protection from White, so it can tank hits from Godhead itself. Any cards like Mutilate for example wouldn't affect it. This card can see some very powerful play in proper application going against Infect Decks, as it's ability would essentially make it immune to Infect despite the counters being put onto it, kind of like it gets the -1/-1 counters but isn't affected at all by them as if it can be infected by the Phyrexians, but not affected by the infection itself, like a carrier.

Also, for Serum Reclamation, that first part can be pretty good too if you're planning on attacking someone, because it doesn't say tap target creature you control, just tap target creature. So, if you're trying to hit someone that has a creature that would kill anything it blocks, then you've now tapped said creature. He can't block with it until his turn now.

The way the red side of Asishen works is you pay one life before it enters that stack, then it enters the stack. If its countered it goes to graveyard as normal, but if it isnt you keep it in hand and draw a card.

For wibergolk, that would be pretty awesome actually. There is a card in the new phyrexia all will be one set where it starts with 4 oil counters on it, and on every upkeep you remove an oil counter. When there are no more oil counters, you lose the game. People are using this card and giving another player control of it so that player will lose the game. With the Wibergolk card, you'd be able to give it back to the original owner, therefore saving yourself without having to use a destroy or exile on it. For a colorless zero that also has flying, that's a steal

Animate Dead, Beacon of Unrest, and Debtor's Knell can Cheat Nightmare Nocloyand out from the Graveyard. Inviolability would make it an exceptional blocker in an Orzhov themed Deck. In a Jund themed deck, you can use Doubling Season, Predatory Hunger, Dragon Blood, and Primal Cocoon to ramp it up quick and then either Fling it or use it with Soul's Fire to do alot of damage.

30:30 Markov Assassin is the most explosive member of the Evoke elementals. Turn 1 evoke, ETBs(Opp discard & 1/1), Ephemerate with evoke on stack, ETBs, rebound Ephemerate, ETBs. Combo basically reads (W):each player discards 3 cards: Create a 2/1 defender and (3) 1/1s. Defender is the only thing keeping this guy "honest". Collective Arcade: party is 5 creature types: Warrior, Wizard, Cleric, Druid, Rogue. for a common i guess a 1/1 unblockable that can get to a 6/6 with help is printable. it's not good, but there have to be bad cards in sets, or cards that will only be played in limited. and imo this can have nice flavour for a future innistrad or D&D sets

Cast wibergolk on a card that affects all players in some way or one that states its owner games some benefit. Now cast some form of board wipe affecting all cards (of a type) controlled by all players. The uncontrolled card survives. OK - phasing is likely to be cheaper and less permanent but where's the fun in that. Lotus Seeker - combos with Massacre Girl for the board wipe if you only had X/2+ creatures when she was played.

In commander you can only have one mana vault because you can only have one card of each name but if you change the name then you can play another mana vault

For Tyrenizor, Dlape 2 could be Suspend 2 for 3 Mana. I say this as Dlape sounds like Delay and closest gameplay mechanic is Suspend, and seeing how the format looks, this is most likely the case. This can be broken as usually the Suspend Cost is at least if not greater than the Suspend Number, save on Rare and Mythic Rare Cards. This card however is a Rare, which I guess in the AI's eyes justifies the lower cost. Now what 'Fillionances' are can likely be interpreted as either Creatures or Lands, maybe Dinosaurs based on the image, not sure which.

With Wibergolk, you lose control of a permanent you control. Other players don't gain control of it. It's just no one's now LOL
