Fun fact! Most of these alarms are designed to cause fear and anxiety, that way you'll listen to advice and get your butt in gear. Japan is unique though! Theirs is to encourage people to remain calm, because with earthquakes and tsunamis, you maybe have a minute if your LUCKY. So in order to keep people from dying in a panic, they are to remain calm and orderly.
