Fairly happy as a Sydney fan, If Costa doesn't work out we got Lolley and Segecic etc Bit inexperienced at the back, but I'm all for giving the young players runs anyway. Auckland has some players I'm keen on watching. Cam Howieson is someone I've wondered if he could play in the A-league for a while now, I think they'll be competitive which is all you can ask in season 1, Hoping they add a lot to the league and football fans in Auckland come out to play. Pretty pumped in general for the season to kick-off.

Western United’s window has been very underwhelming. Just two signings bought in, at the same time we lost Penha, Lustica and Risdon just to name a few. Let’s hope youth can do something this season. 💚🖤🤞
@CoastWatchFootballКүн бұрын
Yeah, a little concerning for Western. Hopefully a big season for Ibusuki in front of goal!
@chuckmeat87Күн бұрын
Worst window in the league unfortunately imo. Focusing on youth should be good in the long run as Western haven’t really been a club with reliance on young players in the past.

Brisbane also signed a 21 year old Ecuador winger on deadline day. Honestly all of our international signings this off season are more on the youthful side so thats probably what Zadkovich is going with this season. Not sure if or how its going to work cause this has been one of the weakest preseasons I have ever witnessed

A lot of roar fans absolutely trashing the signing of the Indonesian fella, but I think they are wrong to -for a few reasons... Firstly arguably no decent visa signing since Eric Bauteac (or maybe some would argue Broich/ Berisha). The club has been surviving off youth players for years so the budget clearly isn't there right now... so what do the fans realistically expect? At least this guy has the potential otherwise he wouldn't be playing international football. Secondly, the signing has more than doubled their social media following overnight so while he hasn't scored a top flight club goal and there's a chance it is a flop on the pitch, he's doubled the clubs marketability to sponsors. That will bring in the club more money at least which might improve the player budget in a year or two. That alone is more than any Visa signing has done for the Roar in a long time.
@CoastWatchFootballКүн бұрын
@@DownUnderBall Well said. It’s been incredible to see how his signing has boosted Brisbane Roar’s social media numbers! Keen to see how he goes in the A-League.

As a Sydney fan I am disappointed that Robert Mak left he was like a little Messi in a way. In all respect though Douglas Costa is an improvement in that position. I am really concerned about our defensive situation. Coast what do you think?
@CoastWatchFootballКүн бұрын
I agree, Costa is a great replacement for Mak. With the departures of Rodwell & Lacerda, Sydney are definitely still missing an experienced player at the back. Aside from that, the Sky Blues are looking strong. 💪
@chuckmeat87Күн бұрын
We are apparently going to sign Alexandar Popovic on loan
@blinkusfishus2052Күн бұрын
I think Mak simply wanted to go back home to Slovakia, that's why resigning him was never really discussed even though he was a pretty good player on his day.
