⁠@@onexpunchxdadThe reason it is that shade of green is that uniformed Irish volunteers in 1916 and uniformed Irish Citizen Army members wore uniforms in similar shades or the shame shade as the dress uniform. Also makes a nice change from British dress uniform convention. You should do military musician uniforms, I think you will love the Irish defence forces drums and brass instruments players uniforms which are black with red accents. You should have noticed that the female officer’s shoulder flash a red pike on a yellow background is something no British unit would ever use as the pike is a symbol of the 1798 united Irishmen rebellion which included a number of battles where the red tunics got hammered by the rebels. As for our battle dress uniform we are the last mainly English as an L1 nation in the developed world to use a woodland pattern which has seen use from East Timor, Liberia, Lebanon, Golan Heights and Kosovo in addition to the home front. Also still issuing ballistic googles as opposed to glasses and keeping the chest armour and munitions pouches including magazine storage separate. Only army officers wear brown leather with their dress uniforms, enlisted below BQMS wear black leather gloves and cloth belts if it is not Service Dress Number one, if service dress number one the gloves and belt are white. Also peaked caps were until recently the preserve of Army and Air Corps officers until only the army reserve who already wore a green beret to differentiate them from the non reserve army were left not wearing a peaked cap with their service dress uniform. Officers had a brighter green band on their beret. Now black berets which most in the full time army with the exception of the calvary and military police are worn with the battle dress uniform and peaked caps with service dress.

the helmet thing in many countries is a leftover from the earlier half of the 20th century before the introduction of camouflage and body armour to units that werent sappeurs cuirassiers stormtroopers etc the helmet first being reintroduced to add protection for soldiers in the early modern era 17th century to the victorian era early mid 19th century into the beginning of the 20th century then leather helmets where switched out for metal ones to protect against shrapnel some countries had retained earlier metal helmets some units in some countries retained them as a remnant of the sets of armours (including proofed armours meaning bulletproofed as seen from the late renaissance to the late 19th to early 20th century for cuirassiers) they used to wear those that didn't retain them had to switch them out for ones the could protect their heads from shrapnel and debry those helmets would then get add ons like forehead plates to make them more capable of resisting gun fire some only at a distance several designs for body armour was made most armies where told they would not get them (some of the designs have since then been retested and found to still be somewhat viable ballistic armour make of that what thou wilt) as it would not be needed in the future later on during ww2 the soviet would issue some formations with sapper armour (metal proofed body armour) others with flakvests like the british and americans (others would have in the period prior to the second world war such as china have bought up old equipment being sold of by great powers german sapper armour and stahlhelms ending up in droves in china some of it later being captured by the japanese imperial army and send back to japan to be melted down for the war effot along with historical rubble like the nanjing cast iron dome pbs.twimg.com/media/EEKhFBOVAAAndSK.jpg:large other things later on would be captured by the chinese red army and would reappear in korea and vietnam like stahlhelms and is still used by some stations for conscripts still appearing in photography to this day qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-ffc467037a5b4c5085ed4eb2ffceabbf-lq www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fe1234pn00bx71.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D7fa3f141bbe9846090437605a999fabb85a159e4) in other cases it is regimental tradition and the reasons may vary one reason is to indicate that they are actively on guard station or duty or some other task that permits them ''action'' or limited violence or use of force or whatever expression happens to be used which is why some units switch out hats for helmets or prefer helmets to hats because what their purpose is or the powers they have may be more when it comes to physical matters such as with the military police or a provost sergeant some military units retain helmets with their dress uniforms (often times based on earlier service uniforms and accoutrement) because they are expected to aid in managing civil unrest or public upheavel such as riots violent protests street violence etcetera

ALL the Marine dress uniforms are sharp. Frankly, no one from the US Army (even their new ones are a nod to the throwback sharpness of US Marine uniforms) or the USAF are fit to even judge. These are all pretty neat uniforms and I think you will like mostbof these.

Depends on what you mean by Dress Uniform. The UK Khaki uniform is the No 2 Service Dress. Which is much like the US Marine Service Uniform. For 'Fancy' you may want to look at Full Dress or No 1 Dress. You'll find a lot of commonalities. The Canadians in Black you'll likely find are in No 1 Dress. 0:15, that's not the British army dress uniform, that's the Irish army uniform as indicated by the title under the picture. It's a dark green rather than a brown/khaki. Also, the Canadian dress uniforms are dark green not black, at least for the army. The Royal Canadian Navy has a black dress uniform.
