As a German this is literally my breakfast on most days. If I‘m short on time or too lazy to go to the bakery I‘ll switch the brötchen for normal toast or make porridge with raisins. But I know some people who don’t like porridge so it really depends on your taste edit: as a 15 year old student, out of all things I‘ve ever commented I certainly didn’t expect my basic af breakfast to blow up lol

Breakfast in Germany was one of the best experiences of my life.. nothing beats being able to walk a couple blocks to grab the freshly baked bread at 6 am, then to head back home, hit the butcher on the way back to get your fresh sliced meats, cheeses next door, then back home to get the buttermilk, orange juice and coffee out on the table.. the bread still steaming and warm, the heat against the cold cuts and veggies 🤤🤤🤤 best thing I've ever had in my life and it was hugely because of it's wholesome simplicity.

I was in Germany 2 times. I was a breakfast hater before my first trip. I never woke up early, but in Germany at 7:45 I was full of energy and can't wait to go to Bäckerei and buy a lot of bread. Fresh bread + butter + big choice of meet and cheese + insane nature just blow my mind

@@nam4880 You recognized that correctly, the cheese is placed on the cold roll and the meat is processed in such a way that you can eat it raw. The Germans sometimes have really cosmic eating habits, but the breakfast is insanely good😁

Salades is not the same as salads, those come in little tubs and is like a watery sandwich spread that is very good on bread or toast. Schwarzwalder schinken is black forest ham, a raw dry aged ham with a smokey flavor.

As a German I can say that you should never underestimated the source of your bread. If possible go to an old bakery instead of the supermarket. It's 100%worth the higher price. You'll thank me later

naja ich würde sogar sagen niedriger preis. unser alter bäcker hier (kommt noch aus der ddr), ist halt literally günstiger. bei dem bezahlt man für ein brötchen 11 cent, und bei bspw. steinecke 17 cent.

Lunch not really, more Brunch. For dinner I'd say some boiled Frankfurter/Wiener are switched with the eggs and in my family there often also is TomatoMozzarela and Cornichons. On special occasions Russian Eggs with Caviar/roe

It's really not that much work, it doesn't look that beautiful most of the time. Mostly I just take two bread slices, top it with something (maybe also tomatoe, cucumber, slices and salad), sometimes make myself a coffee and some cereal with yoghurt too. And that's it. But I like to have a good beautiful breakfast where I take time for msyelf

Thank you for the rating our breakfast but I have two little things: 1. Everything was correct but you forgot the honey and marmelade we put on our beloved brötchen. 2. We usually only eat this on weekends because there’s not enough time during the week- during the week it’s more likely to be a toast with salami/honey/nutella/tomatoes/jam etc. Have a nice day and many greetings from germany! ^^

Well yes, BUT we have a billion different versions of them for every type of grain, with all kinds of seeds on top and in different shapes and sizes. Bread variety isn't a thing in other countries, not as much as it is in Germany.

true but in general, you have a few Brötchen and then open some packages of cold cuts and maybe cut a bit of veggies and fruits. No need to turn on the stove and you could just trow it all in a bag and take it with you to work to assemble there.

As a Bavarian I have to say, not everyone in Germany says "Brötchen" and "Brezel"... In Bavaria (where it comes from) we say "Brez'n".. and I really absolutly hate the word "Brötchen" it is basically the minimization of the word "Brot" that means bread in English.. There are many regional dialects and I prefer "Semmel" instead. That's spoken more likely in southern Germany and Austria. Do what you want with that information.. ^^

In Norwegian we call it a "Rundstykke", directly translated to "Round piece" 😂. Also got the word "kuvertbrød", not sure how it translates besides "brød" is "bread".
