The whole problem for a lot of people to grasp is factoring. Once they see how easy it is, less stress.
@mpav14082 жыл бұрын
Step 1: mult A and C Step 2: break apart Bx such that the sum = Bx but the product = AC (edited) Step 3: Split down middle with parentheses Step 4: Divide out factors such the factored pairs left over are equivalent Step 5: 1 of the left over factored pairs is one of the solutions Step 6: The other solution is found by combining what was divided out This method works for pretty much every ax^2+bx+c(standard form) equation and I have found that usually the only time it doesn’t work is when it is nonfactorable. Hope this helps!
@kazuya38496 ай бұрын
@@mpav1408that is only good if it's a trinomial, there are other factoring methods like synthetic division, factoring when a is not 1, factoring when a is 1, factoring by gcf, factoring by grouping, difference of two squares, difference of two cubes, sum of cubes

@aidanpotts71574 жыл бұрын
Hi Carl! So here we ended up with x/2 because cancelling (really means simplifying) all the other variables could be cancelled because they had a value of x/x or y/y which is really just 1/1 which equals 1! The x/2 was the remaining answer because there was no 2 in the numerator and similarily there was no x in the denominator so we couldn't cancel (or simplify) further!
