No, shields have outplay for a lot of champs in many situations. A heal cant get removed from an hp bar. Also, the shield goes away. On top of that, Serpents Fang.

@@MayoZrooski the only outplay for shields is not engaging with them until they disappear. If spirit visage is going to apply to shields why would grievous not apply to shields? Shields and healing both serve the exact same purpose in a fight, and god forbid if your champion can get both at once (i.e. riven, yone)

@@towermice Physical damage and magic damage do the same thing in a fight. Why doesnt armor work against magic damage? Also, shields and healing do not serve the exact same purpose. Furthermore, "the only outplay for shields is not engaging with them until they disappear" is a very reductive statement, given that "not engaging with them until they disappear" is a UNIVERSE of possibilities--do you Kha'zix R? Do you space in and out as Jinx with excited or ghost? Do you dip into and out of a bush? do you zhonyas? Do you hold your damage while dodging skillshots until shield ends even though you dont know if youll live? I agree that Yone and Riven are pissbroken, but its not because of their shields alone. Theyre also beatable and people like them so whatever, they can be a little overtuned.

@@MayoZrooski armor doesn't work against magic damage because you can build mr, I don't know what point you're trying to make here. And yes, they do serve the same purpose: to make you live longer. And no, it's not reductive at all. Your only two "outplay" options against shielding is to either have enough damage to break them or to not interact with it at all.
