@Kalli.ming What's wrong here is that the description is not even mentioning the country where the dance is originated. That's for Indonesian viewers of this video not really nice if you ask me. Especially when they mention they are specialized in contemporary Australian repertoire. "The ensemble has built an international reputation for performances of outstanding musicianship, specializing in contemporary Australian repertoire." Between Saman Gayo and ratoeh Jaroe Aceh Dance Between Saman Gayo and Ratoh Jaroe Saman Gayo Dance: Based on the data obtained from some artists in Seulaweuet Art Studio, the word saman comes from Gayo art at that time called Pok Pok Ane. This art relies on the clapping of both hands and clapping to the thigh while singing merrily. At that time there was a scholar named Sheikh Muhammad Saman who was developing the teachings of Islam in Gayo Lues. When looking at Pok-Pok Ane's art, Sheikh Saman is interested and inspired to utilize the arts as a means of developing the da'wah of Islam. For that purpose, Sheikh Saman participates in the arts of the people by inculcating the elements of ketauhidan. That is, this ulama trains youths to dance with the beginning of words of praise to God. Ratoh Jaroe Dance: At a glance all must have thought this dance was the famous Saman Dance. However, for those who know him may know that this dance is a twin that is not synonymous with Saman Dance. Although both are originally from Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. Ratoh Jaroe dance is a harmonious blend of body movement and hands. Formation, compactness and rapa'i music became the hallmark of this dance. This dance has the meaning of praise and dhikr of Allah SWT. The reason, if you see the origin of his name, Ratoh comes from the Arabic Rateb and duek derived from the language of Aceh means sitting. So it can be interpreted that this dance is a medium of praise to Allah SWT is sung while sitting. Which is usually the dance is performed on big day events such as weddings, pilgrimage, the last night of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and the Prophet SAW. Well, it is better to avoid our mistake it seems necessary to recognize the difference between these two dances from Aceh. - Saman dance is danced by men in odd numbers, while Ratoh Jaroe Dance is danced by an even number of women. - Saman Dance is controlled by a penangkat sitting in the most central dance formation, while Ratoh Jaroe Dance is controlled by two syahi (poets who sit outside the dancer formation). - Saman dance is sung through Gayo-language poetry, while Ratoh Jaroe's Dance is a poet of the Acehnese language. - Saman Dance is never accompanied by any traditional music, while Ratoh Jaroe Dance is accompanied by Rapai. Costume - Saman Dance costumed Gayo traditional clothes that is kerip patterned shirt (black basic clothes with yellow, red and green motif) and headdresses using bamboo heads with leaves of kepies or pandan leaves. The picture above is an example of Saman Gayo dance costume -While Ratoh Jaroe Dance uses plain red, yellow, green and other clothing combined with the Aceh songket with the use of a plain-colored headband. (Light Ester)

Ayesha Syahrazad Hi I'm interested in knowing the lyrics from 'Sallallahu ala Nabi (Yaa Nabi), Sallallahu ala Rasul (Yaa Rasul) bla bla bla'. Could you help because I can't find it on the Internet? thank you
Mmm, yeah! Tonight, I want to give it all to you In the darkness, there's so much I want to do And tonight, I want to lay it at your feet 'Cause girl, I was made for you And girl, you were made for me I was made for lovin' you, baby You were made for lovin' me And I can't get enough of you, baby Can you get enough of me? Tonight, I want to see it in your eyes Feel the magic, there's something that drives me wild And tonight, we're gonna make it all come true 'Cause girl, you were made for me And girl, I was made for you I was made for lovin' you, baby You were made for lovin' me And I can't get enough of you, baby Can you get enough of me? I was made for lovin' you, baby You were made for lovin' me And I can give it all to you, baby Can you give it all to me? Oh, can't get enough I can't get enough I can't get enough I was made for lovin' you, baby You were made for lovin' me And I can't get enough of you, baby Can you get enough of me? this is super great, but PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THE ORIGIN of this as not just 'trad' but a traditional folk dance of Aceh in Indonesia. especially given that you wear headscarves and your description mentions specialising in 'contemporary Australian repertoire'. it's great to take inspiration from other cultures, but to not mention its origin is to disrespect the meaningfulness of this dance in its traditional context and turns being inspired into cultural appropriation.
