Very informative and too the point, going into exactly what ratting is and how you accomplish the basics of it! Thank you! Can't wait to try it out in my Vector!

Thank you. The Vexor is a great ship for ratting. If you can afford it, or if you put some ISK away from the loot you collect and sell, switch to a Vexor Navy Issue (colloquially referred to as the 'VNI'). It can hold a full flight (x5) light, medium, and heavy combat drones and can handle most anomalies in the game. The hold is also big enough to hold 4x mobile tractor units (MTUs). Just warp to an anomaly at 50, drop an MTU, and start orbiting. The MTU will collect all the loot and tractor in the wrecks so you can salvage them. Just remember to bookmark the location of your MTUs as you drop them so you can go back to salvage and scoop the loot.

Nice! I'm learning so much, thanks to you! I don't know about me watching Torpedo Delivery service. When i just started, i got ganked by one of them when i tried exploring a wormhole to mine. Still feeling bitter about that, not about the gank, but the cheeky private mail i got after...

good video overall -- as always _my_ first encounters with rats _were_ in belts .. .. hence belt ratting -- warping from one belt to another in a system and killing any _NPC_ spawns you come upon .. this can be done by any decently fit combat frigate ( I first did it with an Atron with blasters and a salvager ) _in high sec space_ .. find nearby systems ( _0.8 security or lower_ ) with LOTS of belts -- like 15 .. _I have found salvaging to be worth more than bounties for killing the NPC across the board, though it takes additional time_ .. _remember to bookmark the sites you finish with a time noted ( 01 hide 1542 ) denoting the first site, Hideaway, finished at 1542 EVE time_ .. _so you can run multiple sites in a system and then warp back to each bookmark to salvage later_ as opposed to running combat anomalies ( Hideaway up )

My Catalyst has earned me a lot of money, but after my 5 year hiatus from eve, I can't really remember how I made it to a billion isk. I'm an asteroid ratter and trader primarily and an occasional miner. Completely solo.
@JuriusDoctor5 жыл бұрын
Okay, so a really good bet is to train Mining and associated support skills to 5, then get into Expedition Frigates and train the Mercoxit mining skills and make sure you have the fitting skills for T2 hull upgrades and propulsion upgrades. You can make good money mining Mercoxit or the new Triglavian ores in rift systems (invasions). Get into a Prospect for Ore and Gas, or an Endurance for Ice or Ore. Both will run you about 60M to fit (which is about as much as an Astero), but you can ninja-mine, salvage, and explore in them with relative safety and make good money.

Do you have any advice for minimizing drone aggro for ships like the vexor? My poor drones seem to get an unholy amount of attention sometimes and it really slows things down. I am starting to think it happens more often when my ships dont have strong guns equip but I dont really know for sure how aggro mechanics work.
@JuriusDoctor6 жыл бұрын
There's a little-known trick where, for some reason, if you eject from your ship and jump back in your drones will suddenly start taking less aggro. The other option is if it's a ratting Vexor/VNI just put a single small artillery cannon on it to draw aggro. Shoot at least one rat before you sic the drones on them.
@JuriusDoctor6 жыл бұрын
Obviously, warp to a safe before you try this.
@bebop4176 жыл бұрын
thx, my drones will appreciate the advice :D.
@BamaChad-W4CHD5 жыл бұрын
Yeah drone aggro can be a real pain in the neck. I'm not sure what pulls a bunch of aggro sometimes my drones don't get touched when I do exactly the same next time and my drones are pounded regardless of what i do. It's odd. I have noticed on my minmatar character the target painting does really well at drawing aggro to me instead of drones.

Please explain why you use a probe scanner to locate these anomalies when all you really need to do is "look out the window". In this video @ 9:39, there is an anomaly visible right above your Gila's cockpit, granted it might not be a COMBAT anomaly, but all you need to do is hover your mouse pointer over it to see it's name.
@JuriusDoctor6 жыл бұрын
In short, Greybeard, it's strictly a matter of timing. Having the probe scanner window undocked allows you to simply pick course to the next closest (AU distance) applicable anomaly you want to hit and to warp to it, rather than having to look around to find it. When you're trying to maximize payout from bounties, every minute you waste not doing the thing which makes you money on a given tick (20 min increment) is depreciated earnings for that interval. The faster you can hit and clear sites the better your returns will be from bounties alone. (Not measuring for salvage or looting.)
@kazoosc5 жыл бұрын
,, plus there are some sites that do not show up in empty space like the one you saw 1 > they must be found by probing, or 2 > gained via escalation/expedition from various sites .. like Hideaways sometime escalating into a Narcotics Warehouse

@@JuriusDoctor Just a minor correction, It's actually the sound of your cargohold being nearly full. In this example it's just triggered by the reload. Reloading accesses the inventory and the sound is triggered.

Sorry I’m new. How do you have a probe scanner without the probe launcher and probes.
@JuriusDoctor4 жыл бұрын
The probe scanner exists whether or not you have the ability to launch probes. In the example of the Star Trek universe, Directional Scanning is like short-range sensors. Probe Scanning is like long-range scanners. Your Probe Scanning window will show all of the anomalies you can warp to (green in colour) and the ones you have to scan down (red).

@JuriusDoctor5 жыл бұрын
Not using a noise gate; it's the PTT delay on my OBS. I've since switched to recording with Audition and Premiere - or with Streamlabs OBS - and that should improve the experience.

Never do faction warfare it full of people on private servers and they show they have no faction or corp so you do not know who or side they are on and they will not have a name either so CCP will have no way to know who this person is . And being on a private server they will take either no damage or once they get to a certain level they will stop taking damage .
@JuriusDoctor4 жыл бұрын
What the hell are you talking about? There are no 'private servers' in EVE Online. It's SINGLE SHARD. That means one server environment, and that server environment is managed by CCP hf. I'm sorry you had a bad experience in Faction Warfare, but you clearly need some extra training. Perhaps you should watch my videos on Lowsec Dynamics and my upcoming video on Faction Warfare.
