A couple things I want to address! Unlike my other videos, this really wasn’t planned. Normally, I would explain things in excruciating detail. This wasn’t mean to be educational in anyway, just documenting what I’ve done to the car. If I didn’t make it, people would ask “Anthony did you paint those parts?” So yeah, wish I would have taken more footage in retrospect but what can you do. Enjoy it for what it is, and I promise you’ll like the final outcome. Thanks for watching!

Looks fantastic! I bought a new to me 2013 Civic. The bumper has some stone chips and parking lot battle scars. Not horrible and I was going to live with it. I always wanted to repair it but a bit hesitant. After watching your video, I feel confident to do it. I'll definitely source the same materials and prep the bumper properly. Thank you for the video!

The one disadvantage about the ebay grill is you cant seperate the grill part from the part you want to paint. The oem one has like 10 screws that allow you to seperate the 2 parts. But great build non the less. And i totally agree on waiting to get the wheels before the big reveal. Keep up the good work.

Anthony!.... One thing I think that would be really great for this series is to keep track of exactly how many HOURS you put into this vehicle. Also have your competitors do the same so you can compare. This will provide a way to quantify your actual cost/profit from the flip. Once sold, divide the profit by the hours spent on the car and that will give you a true "dollar per hour" rate for your own labor. Even if it comes out to only $10 an hour, it's still a very important factor. All that work is worth something when you are trying to turn a profit, and it really needs to be factored into the cost of flipping the vehicle. Too many people forget to pay themselves for all their hard effort. BTW: One cool trick to precision edge masking is to use a straight edge & cut long thin pin-stripes of making tape with a razor. Then use them to run around the precision edge of your piece. The thin masking strips easily stretch/bend around very tight curves while still laying perfectly flat. Once edges, you mask like normal with less precise fatter strips of tape.

You did a great job painting with rattle cans. The 2K clear really gives it a nice glossy finish. I was wondering though, could you use 2K clear to coat your headlights? Would that keep them from fading and getting cloudy? I just bought new headlight assemblies for my ‘01 Accord and I want to protect them from the sun.
@Debodan3 жыл бұрын
From experience (maybe someone could relate or not ) I’ve done that and after 6months or so the coating got super flaky and grey almost, it was really rough to the touch I wouldn’t do it if I were to come across that again
@pab7023 жыл бұрын
@@Debodan I appreciate the reply. I wonder if it flakes because 2K clear is not meant for plastic?

Is there a reason you’re not starting off the panels then moving onto them after you start spraying? I’ve heard not doing it this way makes the paint uneven. Could be wrong I’m not a professional just interested in professional painting

See that’s where I’m not sure. From my experience, the longer the spray the bigger chance of the spray spitting. I’ll do short burst in both directions and look for the paint to begin cross linking. Once I see it mesh together for that area, I wait until the next coat. Just how I do it personally with cans
