Rattlesnake Canyon Off Road trail - Johnson Valley to Big Bear CA 4x4 Trails in Broncos

From Temecula Valley, we embarked on a journey to Johnson Valley, connecting with fellow 6th Gen Bronco aficionados at the entrance of the iconic King of The Hammers, a top-tier Ultra 4 off-road event. Prepping ourselves, we navigated 5 miles down the 247 towards Rattlesnake Canyon trailhead, with our sights set on Big Bear for a well-deserved meal. The recent heavy rains had altered our familiar trail, but the day was packed with exhilarating challenges, unforgettable moments, and an unexpected encounter at Burns Canyon. Contrary to a local's advice, we braved an unforeseen detour, and our Broncos rose to the occasion, conquering every hurdle. A day to remember!
Route was Rattlesnake Canyon to Burns Canyon Road 2N02 then we detoured left at the split and took 2N70Y which got pretty interesting after the recent rains. Then we hooked back up with 2N02 all the way to Baldwin Lake.

Bummed we didn’t do Rattlesnake when we were out there. We did Burns from Big Bear to Pioneer/Joshua with a Toro rental BB Sasquatch and w/o any recovery gear - I was skeptical - but, I didn’t see anything too technical. Beautiful drives either way.

Thanks for watching! Yes, I am running the Icon Stage 8 suspension kit on Method 705 wheels with BFG KO2 35s. Made high speed desert and fire road stuff incredible compared to stock Sasquatch suspension. This was after this past Saturday. The storm changed the trail considerably and made Burns Canyon impassable without taking the 2N703 Off shoot.

At what point in the video did you take the left onto 2N703? Also, were there any hard parts of the trail? I was thinking about doing this trail soon so I wanted to make sure its doable for my lifted Expedition on 35s. Thanks, really enjoyed the video.

Hi Sorry I didn't shoot the turn off but it is on Burns Canyon rd at the split before you start climbing in elevation. Ill thow the link to that section from OnX for you below. I would stay on Burns there was a few more difficult sections on that turnoff since we hit it right after the rains. Might be easier now. @@dangermtbbronco this was my fourth time going wasn’t a beginner trial. It definitely had its harder spots. Before we got to the end of the desert beginning of the mountain, we came to a rocky spot and it was intense. We had to turn around and go a different way. There’s also a flipped over Dodge in that crazy rocky area looks like they might’ve pushed it off the mountain

Yeah the rains have changed it quite a bit this year. Glad you had a great time! That rocky spot I think you are talking about the trail splits into left and right there it seems. We just drove through the middle over the rocks to get back onto the other trail. Always sucks seeing a rig flipped over.@@NobodyImportantx00

@@NobodyImportantx00 Yeah it is a moderate trail rated at a 4, but after the rains a few sections are a bit tougher.
