Great video, showing it throughout the seasons and in different growing stages, too! I am growing this from seed. Mine are tiny babies right now in pots. :) Thanks for sharing!

At 3:27...(sorry, but the wanna be entomologist in me can't help this). I'm pretty sure that's a Carpenter Bee rather than Bumble Bee. You can differentiate them from bumble bees by their rapid flight (bumble bees are normally much slower and more "clumsy" looking); their shiny abdomen; how they hold their wings out at a 45° angle when they stop to feed on a flower; and on flowers with long tubes, how they will "rob" the nectar by landing on the outside of the flower and piercing a hole in the bottom. They're really funny...very energetic and territorial. While many people don't like them because they can cause damage to wooden parts on a house, I really get a kick out of just watching them defend the little piece of the yard or garden that they decide belongs to them. 😍

Thanks for the correction. I misidentify bees more often than I get them right 😅. I appreciate being corrected, helps me learn. Feel free to correct me anytime.

@@CEGNatives I hear you there! LOL Not just bees for me...I misidentify almost everything until someone points me in the right direction. I hope I didn't come across as bossy. 🤥 And for what it's worth, I really appreciate your videos about plants for the pollinator garden. I'm trying to work on improving habitat in my yard, and your suggestions have been very helpful as I consider what plants might work, where to put them, and what to plant with them! I'm looking forward to more posts.

Cathy, I found you by searching button bush and have been binge watching this evening. I love your videos and your garden looks amazing. Do you do garden tours on here? I may not have found it yet if you do. I love how you showcase plants, and would also love to see how your garden is laid out. I’ll go see if you have a garden tour video.

Thank you for your kind comments. We don't do many garden tours. We live on a 62x120 foot lot and what isn't covered in buildings is covered in gardens. Our neighbor politely asked us to not show their property in our videos and we try to respect their privacy. Hope you found the few garden tours I have done. Also, I did a video on the garden plan program I use that includes a copy of my Garden layout. It has changed some but I will try to remember and put up a current copy.

Thanks for all of this info! A friend just gave me some rattlesnake plant when they were thinning out their garden to put in my brand new "desert garden"! Sure hope I can keep it alive!

I have tried to germinate the seeds in past years, but had no luck…maybe it’s because I didn’t stratify…maybe I’ll try again. Thanks!

Yes, they do need a cold period to germinate. Thanks for commenting.
