to those that don't realize, he did the solo with a 22 fret guitar. (fender style). Yet CC deville played it with a 24 fret guitar. Some of the solo part requires to bend the 6th string on the 24th fret. He did that note perfectly with a pinch harmonic.

@@rattlewrist - My friend, no joke sir, this is by far the best solo cover in KZbin’s vault. Even live performances by the original artist, Mr. Bruce, haven’t been this great. This is as close to studio track as I have heard. Been spit out in 71 rocking from day emmer effen one. (Mother f@cking day one!)this is legit brother sir. Fantastic, the one solo I always wanted to learn and I did...not as well as you did though. The thing about C.C. was that he understood he was not the cleanest or fastest guitar player, and yet he gets criticized all the time. The thing is, how many shredders out there can you identify within 5 seconds...he created a style/tone that people recognize and to me that is as important as technical skill. If you sound like a hundred others, does anyone notice? Love your videos, keep sharing your talent.

Nicely done!! This has always been one of my favorite solos, and CC's playing, although passionate, is sort of all over the place rhythmically and technically. (Basically, a lot of the faster passages he played in that solo were more likely accidental than on purpose) So to get that note for note is quite a challenge. Well done!! :-)

It really was mostly accidental. C.C. has never played the same solo twice. Except for "Talk Dirty To Me.
@ryant36006 жыл бұрын
actually if you go back and look at all of CC's solo's even though they may seem "all over the place" just about every note he plays has a purpose and are all in there to go along with the chords that are played in the song. his solo's are actually very structured. I've seen some interviews over the years from producers and other guitarists that have worked with him and they all say he gets a bad rap due to "Poison" and the image over shadowing his true abilities, but that all his solo's are very structured and every note is intended for a reason.
@brogoram6 жыл бұрын
Yeah..poison overshadowed his true talent. He actually a very unique player. Sadly, people especially the guitar community doesnt like poison so much and they couldnt hear cc's playing due to "too hate to hear poison's songs".

You also must know, when interviewed about this solo, C.C. said that he had 3 short solos that he was trying to choose from, Bruce Fairbairn told him that he thought the solo needed to be longer and suggested they could punch them together to make a single solo, or C.C. could figure out how to put them all together as a single solo. C.C. went with making it a cohesive solo rather than a production creation. As for never playing the same thing twice...I actually like that over hearing the album version over and over. They are always similar but he throws something in here and there. Go watch his video at GMP guitars and listen to the actual variety of styles he has. The Samantha 7 album also shows a different side and strikingly...not so many solos and when I heard the "Feelin Allright" song by LEN, I knew instantly the solo was C.C., right in the beginning of the 80's rock revival of the late 90's
