Dime playing that riff in the 2nd verse with the harmonics was way cool. Also liked the segue into "Victim Of Changes".

Pretty cool how chilled out they are doing it too! Nice to see you, the younger generation appreciate metal bands, Amanda! Just saw Anthrax and Killswitch Engage in Toronto last night and it was cool to see "old people" like me(49) who grew up with this stuff, alongside teens and 20 year olds! Keep on rockin' Amanda!

@MalteseCross he looks like Kerry King, he plays like Kerry King, HE IS KERRY KING. Vinnie Paul is the drummer and that's just what he's doing in this video. Kerry King was the guest guitarist for their show 2 days later. I have the footage, and they say Kerry King and play Slayer songs which you can find in the related videos. This is a video of the practicing...its obvious, why are so many people debating whether or not it's him? THIS GUITARIST SITTING DOWN IN THE VIDEO IS KERRY KING!!!

Update - now I'm sure it is Kerry King ! Just look into the suggested videos on the right and watch "Pantera 1989 Practice with Kerry King". There you'll see them playing South of Heaven and Raining Blood and Kerry showing some riffs to Dime. it's obvious that these two videos were recorded at the same place, at the same day and at the same rehearsal.

Looks like Joe's Garage to me.... There were countless killer bands coming through Ft.Worth thanks to Pantera and Joe's Garage. It was probably a night when Slayer was also playing and they wanted to have a song to play together..happened all the time.. Even better, we used to could see Dime playing with whoever was in town at the time...those were the days! Miss ya man.

Of course this is the Priest arrangement, never said it wasn't. I love both versions although my favorite version is the original studio version because it's slower, darker, and haunting (just personal preference). I really like when bands DO cover songs they make it their own instead of a note-for-note copy, which JD did and did well. Peace.

@hjkentproductions its kerry king man, the next night they played a gig and did several slayer covers with kerry king on guitar. you can find the vids on youtube, and they literally say, Kerry King.
@MalteseCross
@MalteseCross 13 жыл бұрын
i dunno it could be Kerry King, but i only say that because of the Slayer paint job on his flying V, and it is 1989... you couldn't really get those guitars in the stores.. they were all pretty much custom made.. its not like today where you can get the same exact guitar as "such and such", but at the same time, it does kind of resemble Kerry, in the late 80's he's all breaded out like that. so who knows, but remember Vinnie Paul plays guitar too..
