Surely he has every right to protect himself at all times.
@clivejones15824 жыл бұрын
Yes, and it states quite clearly that this is the case in the laws. A player joining a ruck must bind on a team-mate or an opponent, using the whole arm. The bind must either precede, or be simultaneous with, contact with any other part of the body of the player joining the ruck.

Yeah, let's get back to the good old days when most people playing rugby went home with a concussion and people broke their neck. Come on man, safety is important. But no, you rather have a few people who are braindead or in a wheelchair because it's "masculine"? You, sir, are an idiot. You also think that for example Vahaamahina being sent of against Wales was not the right decision? Apparently we can elbow people now. Let the players play. Leve that red card/yellow card nonsense in soccer, not in rugby. Gonna defend that shoulder charge rule too? Glad I played before wimps tried to ruin the game with their PC rules.

Apparently that's my fault. I don't agree with all the rules, but all of them are there for a reason. And people like you are one of them. but back on topic: Vahaamahina's elbow vs Wales is acceptable to you? And, by the way, it isn't like football is the only sport where people can be sent off, and it's not like football used the option for decades before Rugby. The first red card at the Rugby WC was in 1987, in football it was in 1970.

@@jackodees1765 Sorry u agree with the effeminzation and demasculinization of a once great sport. Wasn't that way back in the day, and very few people got concussions, let alone ended up in wheelchairs. Same PC nonsense has ruined American football for almost 30 years now too, and no reason for it. It's supposed to be rough and tumble, a warriors sport. The injuries are part of the sport, getting knocked around. Don't like it? Don't play, and don't watch it. Throwing a shoulder into an opponents face to get him off a ruck from about a foot away shouldn't be a red card offense, especially as I watched the guy who got hit act like a soccer (football) drama queen lying on the ground pretending he was soooo injured (gimme a break!!); 5 minutes in the sin bin/penalty box, that's all. Let them cool off for a few minutes. The only issue there was in Rugby was scrum engagement, and they modified that. All other rule changes under the pretense of "safety" were non-issues to begin with, therefore unnecessary, and make the game something less than what it was, and what it should be. And believe me, I'm not the only one who sees the nonsense that's happened with the rules.
@jackodees17654 жыл бұрын
@@timmycrw91 Thankfully you're an expert on safety and a medical expert. Come on man, if you were playing before "87 you're at least 40 years old, act like a grownup. Look at the NFL, a sport you brought into this: Since 2012 they wrote down all the concussions. I'm not a doctor, but I assume playing on with a concussion isn't great for your health. They had over 200 a year, every year. 96 percent of former NFL players have some form of braindamage. A link between concussions, braindamage and things like suicide and diminished braincapacity has been found, not something I would have on my hands. But no, your entertainment is more important than the wellbeing of those who entertain you. Really? Grow up. It sounds like you would enjoy a medieval melee more than rugby. Stop complaining, and don't watch it as you said it. Or find some other braindead people, and form your own league with your rules, you can call it the idiotleague.
@antonybarnstormer62853 жыл бұрын
So all you must do is hold hands at a ruck. You must be able to clear out to make it competitive or this game is done. All ready its over officiated. Also I would prefer once the ball is out for the official to call it instead of stopping of the game at each ruck. This would make the halfback clear it quicker and for more continuity of the game.
