Raubtier (German for "predator") hail from Haparanda, Sweden. It's located on the Swedish side of the border to Finland - an area where folk music is very core to the culture..! So there's that. The song 'Bunkern' (Swedish for "The Bunker") essentially tells a tale of a man who's building a bunker of hope in order to survive a dystopian society created by Swedish politicians and the EU choking every society to death through excessive surveillance and control of "freedom". He's prepared weapons, ammunition, canned foods, water, silver, a.s.o. to survive in the land of the cockroaches - all of this in order to exact vengeance upon those in charge! Please note that 99% of their songs are in Swedish with a thick northern accent - English subs might be advisable, though I'd imagine those may be hard to come by 🤷 @12:50 Yes, you did (Swedish Raubtier fans).

When you're from Haparanda, Sweden, as these guys are, you are basically too far up north to be able to sing in English. It's just too cold there. It's also right next to Finland (there's a bridge over the river), so it's all a big jumble. Such is life in Norrbotten (heck I don't have a clue, I'm just making shit up here). But, I love this band. It reminds me of an even rougher Sabaton.

Man you never stop to surprise me. Just namedrop mr Svennis Eriksson himself like that! Dang! We are synced when it comes to Football! Also, Raubitier is Hulkoff in his true element. You heard his guest appearance with sabaton, you even heard him in his English solo attempt. But when it comes to Hulkoff, Raubtier is how he should be consumed. So the lyrics, is about him bunkering down while everyone dies a nuclear related death. He goes through his inventory of knives, cans, guns etc. then how he is a "surviving avenger"(no.. not MCU).

what makes this song heavy isn't the melody or anything like that. What makes it heavy is the message behind the preparation he sings about. I mean putting duct tape, silver and iodine tablets down into a bunker along with purified water and such. Follow why you'd want those things in a bunker you'd see how heavy it really is. It is in a different corner of metal from raubitier, but you should try finntroll - forsen as well. make sure you watch the music video as well.

Glad you finally did a reaction to Raubtier, but sad this was the song when the have sooo many better ones AND raubtier is (i think) difficult to appreciate since a big part of their music is lyrics and the singers HEAVY accent and use of the old Swedish language, i would highly recommend: "Doberman & Det finns bara krig" instead =) Cheers for all your nice reactions my dudes!
