He hosted a drum clinic in Chico..... I walked into the drum shop to purchase a set of bongos and the stand and head back up to the mountains where I was stationed firefighting and I met this guy he was just phenomenal and he let me play a couple licks with him before I actually took off with it . What a Honor....Would love to do that again.... Thanx Raul....you da man....and L.P. got me a set of Cosmo series congas...and I love them.....great company......and thank you for that

Raul Rekow is the most solid player I've ever heard. His work with Malo back in the 70s is awesome. I believe his playing is an important part of Malo and Santana. I've heard both bands with other players and its not the same. And I wouldn't expect it to be the same but Raul stands out from all the rest. The man is consistently aggressive but in control bringing the sound out of the congas with creativity and all of this really enhanced the music of both bands.

Thanks Raul. Ive have heard conga solos that are so long that they start to dragg quickly, I would much rather hear and enjoy a short and rythmic solo rather that a long repetative one. Your advise, it makes total sense. Thanks again. P.S Please replace those synthetic skins for some real cueros, LOL, just kidding. Take care.

alguien que me pueda responder por favor, las congas que usa son quinto , conga y tumbadora, pero los dos tambores adicionales son 2 congas mas? o 2 tumbadoras mas? o una conga o tumbadora , siempre tengo esa duda. saludos,

En la serie "Raul Rekow Signature Series" de LP, solo fabricaron el juego clásico: quinto, conga, y tumba. En este video, Raul usa un quinto como tambor principal, una tumba a su derecha, y los 3 tambores que quedan son congas (a su izquierda y más adelante en el frente). Uno puede deducir esto por la forma en las líneas al borde de lor parches sintéticos Remo.
