Rav yisroel reisman: why the satmar rebbe held so much of rabbi moshe feinstein

I personally heard from rav Efraim greenblatt זצל( my neighbor in har nof) that rav moshe used to send him to ask questions to the satmar rebbe!!!

The Satmer Rov didn’t come near Reb Moshe in halocho. Who cares if agreed or not. Reb Moshe was THE posek Hador

@@yoshc9 see Eiruvin 48a where Tosfos says that the height of the mechitzah is 18 tefachim ie. Up to the shoulder not including the head. Reb Moshe didn’t make it up, he followed Tosfos as did the Remo and many acharonim. The Satmer should have taken it up with Tosfos not Reb Moshe if he had a problem. Btw besides the din of mechitza there is an issur of histaklus. If the Satmer chassidim can’t control themselves then that is there problem.

To both comments, of course the satmar rebbe disagreed with rav moshe on many many issues, but he admired his ישרות...as I mentioned rav moshe had a messenger to ask the rebbe many questions...

R' Moshe was indisputably one of the greatest gedolim of our time. Why would the Satmar Rebbe NOT respect him even if they disagreed?

If you were to look into the Satmar Ravs actions and words you would find he respects everyone. What happens always is followers do their own things.

i dont know how accurate this is. I think the satmar was closer with reb aharon kotler more than reb moshe Feinstein. I think if the satmar rebbe had more choice he would have a less lenient posek as the go to....

This story can't be true, as it's known that the Rebbe did not hold of R Moshe's methods of psak and argued strongly with him on many vital issues

More than this, rav moshe often sent his close student, rav efriam greenblat of Memphis to the satmar rebbe to ask his opinion on many matters, as is known. Rav greenblat was my שכן in jerusalem at the end of his life and I heard this from him directly…

Satmar rebbe don’t tell so much of rabbi Moshe, that’s why in satmar kehilles don’t use rabbi Moshe as a פוסק.
