rav4 jbl tweeter speaker install (19-21)

r4ven didnt come with the upgraded speakers so I did it myself. camera doesn't do the sound justice.

Installed Kicker speakers up front. Decided Kicker since everyone on KZbin did JBL. Sooooo much better than the crappy OEM speakers. Thanks again for the walkthrough video! 🤙🏼. Now I need to replace the door speakers lol.

I replaced my tweeters with Infinity Reference 3032s and all my door speakers with JBL CS763s. Amazing sound, no need for a sub or amp for me. Those stock speakers are a cruel joke.

Our 2023 RAV4 Limited came with a JBL system. One thing that has always pi$$ed me off is that the volume goes from 0 -40 or 50 and 18 sounds just as loud as 35. Every 2 or 3 increase in volume level should actually be a noticeable difference. Old stereos with a volume dial that went up to 10 worked better than new ones where a 20 increase is not noticable.

Hey man thanks for the post! i have a new Corolla with the upgraded jbl system which is basically the tweeters on the side pillars and the subw. I want to install these additional tweeters in the same spot as the ones you just installed on the dash (I don’t think my dash speakers are jbl). Hope it goes well for me haha. Subscribed!

You should also attach a bass blocker onto the redwolf connector so that too much bass frquency wont go to tweeters

Please pay attention to which adapter you need. I have the JBL sound system and the speaker connector was square and not rectangular like the one in this video. Might be a good idea also to make certain the speakers sit down in the opening flush.

You didn't reverse the polarity on the speakers (since the Rav4's polarity is reversed). Check the polarity of the signal coming from the head unit with a multimeter. This would probably help your bass response as your speakers are excursioning the wrong way (also will prematurely wears out your speakers).

yes i noticed that. i just adjusted my audio settings accordingly. i turned down my treble and turned up my bass. can’t have both at the same time or it’ll blow.

Of course, he installed coaxial speakers instead of tweeters, latter only serve as highs and shouldn't have any bass, bass would be handled by the one way coax speakers in the doors that handles mid range and lows. The entire sound system in the rav is component type, installing speakers in the dash would soak up way too much power out of head unit and create distortion as well as underpower doors. I'd much rather change door speakers and leave dash alone.

I see people installing the JBL 322F speakers as well do you know what the difference is between that one and the 3020 ones you installed? Was trying to figure out which one to get. I have a 2021 XLE.

i either keep it high treble and low bass or high bass low treble. if u keep both high you’ll end up blowing ur speakers.

Hello. In the description of red wolf wire adaptor on amazon they mentioned, that you have to do something with it before installation, because of changed polarity on RAV4 19-21. Did you do something with that or it worked correctly from the box?
