Acid house started in Chicago - but all-night illegal warehouse parties, with lots of people on Ecstacy, were invented in the UK. Look up "the Second Summer of Love". The US and Europe co-invented rave culture.

@@twilolight EDM is an acronym for Electronic Dance Music. Various sub genres are played at raves. House, Techno, etc.

@@DiscoMatty79 Right, but EDM festivals have a totally different feel and character than raves did in the 90s. The culture has changed. Old-school rave heads don't even use the term "EDM".

@@greenie2600 an electronic dance music festival, Raves, Discos, it's all the same thing. They're a place to go and listen and dance to live recorded music, mostly by djs, and sometimes live PAs.
