This is such a gorgeous song and that line, "What were you before you knew your man" or something like that is always so intriguing to me, because my mum had my first brother in her twenties so I could imagine all the things she wanted to do, but never got to because of mine siblings and I... :/

@danielfabri7345 жыл бұрын
@@abbyj7164 well my parents are in a rocky relationship so it didn't really "hit me" as much but I can only imagine how much it must be relateable to someone, such as you of course :D
@abbyj71645 жыл бұрын
@@danielfabri734 It's not really as relatable to me as it is intriguing. I know in South Asian culture arranged marriages are common. Not that I know whether Raveena's parents had an arranged marriage or not, but that line brought me there. Even just marriages where the bride is young--such as child brides or the bride kidnapping that happens in countries like Kyrgyzstan. Just really makes you wonder and puts things into perspective...I'm definitely privileged and grateful for my circumstances.

I just love that the song is about the woman your mama is/was...that you care enough to wonder...it’s easy to feel like a completely different person after becoming a mom and it’s beautiful that you acknowledge she had dreams and strengths before you, even though i’m sure being your mom is her favorite accomplishment.

Raveena the lyrics to your song have touched me. My mom dropped out of school after grade 10 because back in the pacific islands in the 1960s education wasn't a priority for women. Women were seen as homemakers and caretakers. 5 years later she had an arranged marriage to my dad at the age of 21. She never pursed her dreams. She sacrificed them to raise 6 children and made sure we all completed our education. Shout out to my mom and all the amazing women out there that sacrifice everything so their kids can have a better life with more opportunities

My Nani is in hospital with COVID pneumonia and she raised my sister and I while our parents were working multiple jobs as my mom finished school. Seeing how devastated she is about Nani has hurt so bad. I have many deep and long standing disagreements and hurts with my mother but I’m really ready to let it all go. As i was listening to my Tony Sway playlist i was getting ready to go out for the evening and chill with friends. The song i was listening to ended, and i was waiting for the next song. An ad pops up, and i hate ads so as i reached for my controller to skip it, this beautiful woman appears siting infront of a beautiful background followed by a beautiful melody (00:10). Than i hear one of the most silky smooth voices i ever herd. As i continue watching i realized that i was stuck in a pose still reaching for my controller. I have never had an experience like that before from an ad, and that's why im here. You are way too talented for me to have not herd of you. You're so captivating, and your voice is like a cold breeze on a hot summer day. Subbed! 10✨ 🎶🎶❤😍
