I first saw this video a year and a half ago. It was captivating! I have had 0 experience with playing any music, but this and one other video made me decide to give it a try. At 37 y/o, I started learning piano. It’s been a year and half, and I can already play a couple of songs, and have found it to be SO MUCH fun. Maybe, with (LOTS of) practice, I’ll be able to play as masterfully and soulfully as these young ladies someday. This is my first time coming back to this video. The musicians may not see this comment, but if they do, I want to say thank you. You inspired me to take the first step and start to play music. I never thought I would enjoy it so much. Nor did I expect it to help make my depression and anxiety less horrible. Thank you!

Was the pianist playing the orchestral part really sight read the entire thing on the spot? God, I really am a bad sight reader.
@celineangelalin52393 жыл бұрын
Of course not! They have rehearsed this performance together many times and she is only using sheet music because usually accompanists do (I am not too sure myself why they do, but I know that the soloists do not use sheet music because Liszt started that habit of performing without one)
@celineangelalin52393 жыл бұрын
If the accompanist sight read on spot then they will not be that coordinated with each other (I think, I certainly am not that coordinated with an accompanist the very first time in rehearsal, especially if the accompanist is sight reading)
@vivianlangchen3 жыл бұрын
Yes Celine is correct, in fact this accompaniment is known for being difficult so usually the second pianist will have to learn it well like they would a solo piece ☺️ Don't worry about your sight reading, everyone can improve ❤️ I am not a great sight reader either!
