For me, the 2nd movement of this concerto by Ravel is just exquisite-one of the most beautiful pieces in the entire classical music canon. It’s one of those pieces that has personal significance in my life as well. Bravi Mme. Argerich and Maestro Dutoit.

Martha Agerich recorded this magnificent piece with Claudio Abbado and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra many years ago on DGG. The recording was awarded the Grand Prix du Disc while available in the vinyl only days. I believe this recording is now available on digital platforms nowadays and it is well worth seeking out. A truly remarkable work.
