If he is a famed pianist (And by famed I mean mainstream like Trifonov, Kissin, etc) his handshape and technique is similar to that of Jan Lisiecki. So that's my guess.

Ravel is truly one of the most genius composers of all time, the fact that he could even imagine a piece to be played with as many notes, runs, and techniques is incredible. It might be possible for a particle to "repeat" actions that aren't his regular state after being taken action excessively, making pressing itself possible. Or it could just be that the note in the lower octave copied itself, or that the wind blew, or that Traum has an invisible third hand, perhaps god really exists.

This is insane! I was sweating during the whole finale. For those who were not familiar with the piece, I encourage you to listen to the orchestral version. I wanted to ask you if you would consider playing 'Alborada del gracioso' some day, but thought it would be asking too much. And then you post "La Valse" and Liszt piano sonata in the same week.... !!! You're a great pianist, and it is always a pleasure to listen and watch your performances. Please don't hurt yourself by overdoing it :)

(Don't get me wrong, this is nonetheless an amazing performance even if some segments of it would be sped up to some degree. Still I cannot get around the feeling that the hand movements after the final note look unnaturally fast and I wonder what's going on here.)

I don’t play piano but I love to listen and this is one of my all-time favorite pieces. I’ve played Louie Lortie’s solo recording countless times! But it seems as though most of the prominent pianists avoid the solo version and play it with 4 hands, e.g, Argerich & Friere. I was lucky enough to see Anderson & Roe perform it in concert a few years ago; it was overwhelming. 🤩 What a treat to look over your virtual shoulder and watch how the solo version is executed. Wow! And thank you!
