Don't forget you can create "bundles" in favorites. I have bundles of each category "socks" "sweaters" "tops" "shawls" etc. Makes it easy to fave many many things but to find them again much easier.

This is awesome! I have been using Ravelry for years and this has been a complete revelation - thank you. I also picked up a few new patterns on the way from your searches and favourites - including one I had seen and wanted that was in your video intro pastiche. LOL!

This was fantastic. I am president of my local knitting guild, and was thinking about coming up with a presentation on Ravelry for a future meeting. This is much better than anything I could have put together, so I hope you don’t mind that I am sharing it with my guild members. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

@@MakerMarkKnits we are in Fresno, California, in the Central Valley. 10-11 months out of the year it is too warm here to wear a sweater. Well, I can wear them early in the morning on my dog walks, because we generally have a 25 to 30 degree temperature swing from morning to afternoon. We moved here twelve years ago from the northeast (I’m a New Yorker ) for my husband’s job, and I canNOT wait to move out of here to a place with four real seasons including autumn and winter. I just have to hang in for…three more years until he retires. I’m new to your channel and have been bingeing your videos and really enjoying them. Your joy in your crafting is so palpable.

What a helpful video for folks new to Ravelry. I've been using it almost since its inception so quite familiar. One feature I really love (and used just a couple of days ago), is the ability to search patterns by gauge. Go to "Jump to a Filter" then scroll down to "Additional filters (not found on sidebar). There you can input the exact gauge you want to knit by or a range. I recently ordered yarn for a pattern and then could not for the life of me get gauge (in a fabric I liked). I decided which gauge made a fabric I wanted and then searched patterns according to that. Another feature that's handy is when looking at patterns you'll see three little dots below the bottom right of the picture. I've used that to filter out designers I don't want to see. (In my case the designer Drops since they seem to be confusing patterns to many and I don't want to waste my time with them.) Really am enjoying your videos. Just found you recently.

Love, ravelry, especially the stash part as I inherited an estate of hoarders yarn so I went through all of it and inventoried it on revelry so that now I can just look and get what I want. As I didn’t buy it, it’s hard to remember what’s there. As there was so much, I also gifted quite a bit to another knitter I know.

There's so many patterns I want to buy in Revelry but I live in the Netherlands now (so outside of the US) and PayPal (or even a credit card) is simply a no go for me. I tried going into the pattern sites directly and they too use PayPal or credit card so there's that. The EU have a lot of restrictions when it comes to data and privacy so since moving here I stay away from sites such as PayPal, ebay etc because I simply don't want to deal with the nightmares that can happen due to PayPal. Also, I don't do credit cards because debit card is the way to go in these parts with iDeal... I use iDeal for everything when purchasing online... Love it!

Wow! This was soooo helpful. I use ravelry all the time for purchasing patterns, but I usually look up the pattern by name. I have rarely played with all those search options. As a 'tech challenged' retiree I would love to get a little more detail on how to post pictures of my projects. I've never added any of my projects to ravelry cause I can't figure out how to get the pictures from my phone onto ravelry. (This from the person who only very recently figured out how to post something on Instagram without a younger friend's help.) I like your thorough, patient style!

Getting pictures from your phone to a website can definitely be tricky! You can access all of the features I showed in this video through a web browser on your phone. I think that's the best place to upload your pictures. Play around with visiting the various tabs from your phone browser...and eventually when you're ready to post some pictures, it will be a much more direct approach to do so from your phone's internet browser!

Wow , Thank you , I can see how this could be a rabbit hole . :D I would definitely need some time to transfer / set something up. Perhaps an entire day alone. Good idea might be to include the word RAVELRY in search engine if designer's webpage doesn't pop up. Just in case IF (no LYS) I am ever going to be out , I always keep my little notebook with my knitting /satchel /bag , so I don't have to depend on finding an internet connection. Great episode , informative.

When planing a garment for myself , and searching through the patterns , I look through the projects that have been knitted with a pattern that I am considering . If a pattern is only available in a book, you can see if your local public library has a copy, borrow it as often as you want, and maybe photocopy the relevant pages. So I wanted to make Henry the 7th from the first edition of Starmore's _Tudor Roses._ She does not publish it anywhere else and I couldn't afford the crazy prices for 2nd hand copies (which she wasn't going to get money from anyway). I found a copy in the city next door's library, so I borrowed it a couple of times and copied the graph to take around with me. Colored the photocopy with my colored pencils so the crisscross pattern stands out, then layered mailing tape over it to make it sturdy.
