This video was infinitely more helpful to watch than most. Seeing low cost low skill fits struggle shows where improvement is needed. It also shows things like warping back to station and running out of cap. Things you won’t see on a blinged faction ship.

I was given a Navy Raven about 10 years ago. I still have that same ship. I ran the heck out of it and almost lost it a time or 2 but it has been a very good ship to fly. I have it parked now and just use standard Raven to muck about lvl 4's, when I want to be quick. I use my Drake a lot more than the Ravens though. If you watch contracts you can find fully fit Ravens for around 300mil. Sometime even decent fit

Great explanation of the how's, whys and what to look out for when you don't have particularly blingy ships. Helps me a lot as I try to get most skills to level 3 before doing anything, but can still get caught out. Looking at Eve Survival is definitely a pro tip, I only started doing level 4 missions recently and don't want to take the pod express home lol.

I'm glad you are doing this on such a noob char. Most people are like "here's a minimal fit" but they have close to maxed skills so their minimal fit is still really good.

I don't know if you have covered it already in one of your videos, but a Praxis could be more forgiving and give more dps for low skills characters. And it is very cheap. Low in CPU, but you could also add some drone damage amplifier to go with the ship's drone bonus.

Also this video serves as a perfect illustration why someone should NOT jump into a battleship the moment they can enter one. It took about half an hour to complete a mission that is worth maybe 10 million ISK if we are generous. That's simply not worth the ~500m price tag.

Well some of us like the challenge. I jumped into a battleship, from cruisers, skipping battlecruisers entirely. Went from a low skill Dominix (sentry drone) fit, to a Machariel. Having a lot of fun exploring different fits, and actually even making money in the progress. Yeah, I guess it could go a LOT quicker if I had perfect skills, but I would have to wait another two months at least to get most of my T2 gear. Right now I can have fun, learn in the progress and as long as Im careful survive. Yeah, it also makes it a whole lot more challenging, and it makes it slower, and it makes it more dangerous but what else is there to do in the PvE department for us noobs? Run Abyss? Go to Null-Sec and what? Die? At least this way, if we mess up it's our own fault.

Yes I just did my first Besieged Covert Research Facility in my blinged out Rattlesnake with max skills, it was overkill...(ugh) I'm such a carebear.

A little optimization: You don't want to shield boost until your shields are down to about ~30% in order to abuse the passive shield recharge. At least if you are confident that your shield booster can tank the incoming damage.

its up to the pilot, but id have drop the application for more cap stability/duration... This is a good How to Do for some newbros/folks starting missions and a good laugh for the vets!! Fly safe, and go well.

One thing that would have helped would be to vary the dmg type your torpedoes, if you find your current loadout not sufficient.

my entry raven for lvl 4 missions back inthe day of when lvl 4 missions was new.. was a dual medium armour tanked raven lol.. it worked so yeah. noobs ftw

I fly mostly Ferox for ratting, and again today I could not pass up a very goodlooking escalation. I go with a shuttle, look at who is in system, the corps they are member of (CODE, Xag or Safety, you know the time), Just a few new chars, Eve Uni, those ones, looks good. I go in fast, hit that site hard, keep slamming dscan, and wouldnt you know it, the second I get a tad too occupied with the Ctrl and F1, BLAM, Armor tanked autocannon Gnosis with the neut. It was probably not the best fit but not the worst either, T2 250mm rail, T2 shield hardener, faction ammo, T2 extender, abyssal containment whatever in low, etc. Yesterday I lost a Ferox to a Cane, also armor tanked and autocannon, double repped of course, no killing him. I warped in, and less than 10 seconds. He had to have the site prescanned. When I warped into the system: empty. Maybe a cloaked alt watching the gate? What would be a fairly noob fit that would give someone at least a fighting chance when lured in with a 4/10 or 5/10 Gurista site and hit with some camper or blapper? Would an autocannon Cane be any good for such sites? Then I can shoot back effectively but running the site would be not great. Would a Drake be better? Missiles always hit. Switching to Fury or Precision would take some time but maybe. What is good here? I am getting rather skint at this pace and my good stuff aint selling, I put up 130 millon+ in drugs, 388 million skin, 600 million implant.

1. Go farther away from Jita. 2. Fly a PVP capable ship that you know how to use/know it's engagement profile and take the efficiency loss on your PVE 3. Just stay out of lowsec. 4. Go even farther away from Jita.

@@Skip_Esquire I go all over, keep ratting ships in Khanid Prime, Vullat, Dodixie, the Gnosis getting jumped was around Solitude. It is highly unpredictable.

Im sorry it's not clear, but if youre doing this in null-sec or low-sec, I would go for a smartbomb equipped Machariel. Yeah it's expensive, but hell, it's a great fit to destroy rats, and also will completely surprise most gankers :P Will at least give you a fighting unning chance

Haven't played for about 6 years, came back today and still have my raven from way back, I have it docked right now at a station until I learn the mechanics again lol. they want 38m isk to insure it and i get 120m isk back, so im saving up and selling some things until I can afford the insurance on it. if I lose this ship ill be knocked wayyy back down as its the only ship I have thats worth anything.

if u get disruption and web u will die ther easy u just have a luck fiting not good for lvl 4 mission stick with 3 mission untile u have better skill advise for new player.
