That is debatable. knights are definitely the stronger and more powerful of the two, but ACs are more versatile. The AC can only take a few hits from the obscenely overpowered weapons of the knight, but the speed and ability to dodge reliably gives the AC the advantage. They are more evenly matched in my opinion, with knights being the strength build and ACs being the Dexterity build.

Yeah, it's less of a clash of Power vs Versatility and more just Durability vs Speed. ACs and Knights stand roughly even in height (ACs are roughly 10m tall on average, Knights are 9-12m tall) and can equip similarly sized weapons of power including Plasma and Ion weapons as well as ballistics and even chain melee weapons. This is a bit important as Knight Weaponry is meant to bring down large targets such as Knights and Titans, so for this comparison we can say that *their firepower is roughly equal.* While *Durability* is hard to measure given that both have defensive capabilities most ACs don't leverage defenses, the Imperial Knight's durability is directly stated by several mechanics which make them very tanky in-game barring supremely bad luck. So presumably the Knight's Durability can be stated to well exceed an AC's Now, for the matter of *Speed* it gets a bit more complicated. An Imperial Knight's speed is a bit more difficult to find, however in _Blood Oath_ by Phil Kelly, a Knight is able to keep pace with some White Scars on Attack Bikes. This isn't fully supported by the mechanics of WH40K as Paladins and Errants who are listed as having 'balanced' speed are 2" slower than Attack Bikes let alone a White Scars modified Attack Bike, but may be indicative of the Cerastus Knights who _are_ specialized for speed and have 2" of movement over the standard Attack Bike which could accommodate for the White Scars modification. This is helpful as _Deathwatch RPG_ by Fantasy Flight Games gives Attack Bikes a cruising speed of 110km/h (68mph) and gives us a near 10:1 ratio of kph to inches. It might not be canon but it helps, *so we can give Knights a rough estimate of about 90km/h (55mph)* for the 'average' design. Meanwhile in AC6 the Speed value is much easier to find as it's displayed as part of the HUD and is measured in km/h (Kilometers per Hour). While an 'average' build for an Armored Core is impossible to determine, "Nightfall" Raven's AC can be used as a baseline as it's a pretty well balanced build which shows that *Raven's Boost Speed is 311km/h (198mph).* While that can be boiled down to a simple ACs are nearly 3.5x faster than Imperial Knights, the more poignant descriptor would be that ACs have 200+ km/h (124mph) over the Imperial Knights. For a visualization, there's a video titled *[CBS NASCAR Speed Comparison]* that shows a car going 55mph being overtaken by a car going 200mph. Make your own conclusions about how this battle of Durability vs Speed would go. My money is personally on Speed, but it could go either way honestly.

Imperial knight I think has the advantage in weight, overall durability, and battlefield longevity from superior reactors that don't need to worry about being overtaxed like how an AC needs to be mindful of his generator output. One good connection with a imperial knight melee weapon would probably tear at least a quarter of heavy armored AC's health.

Knights can be 9-12 meters while AC can be 10-12 meters, so hights very similar, but AC's much faster, plus Raven has Pilebunker, so the armor for the knight armor is usless

Great Video! What about Jaghatai Khan vs Durge; both masters of mounted warfare, they are around the same size and strength according to their lore, Jaghatai is a master strategist and tactician, and Durge is a Warrior with millennia of combat experience. I get the shivers thinking about a fight between The Warhawk of Chogoris and the Bane of Clans, Legendary! PS. Durge has a full suite of Beskar Armor he looted off of Mandalorians he killed. The Mandalorians will not refer to him by name out of a superstitious belief that if they speak it he will come for them... I admit a am a Little bit of a Durge Fan Boy Lol.

so a warden? chainsword and a gatling cannon.. thats a warden, maybe has a missile carapace mount. wardens aren't built for knight fights, they're chaff clearers. a wardens job is to support armigers in clearing infantry and light weights who think they're being clever. if we're keying in a questoris for a mech duel your looking for an errant, a paladin, or a perceptor. lets go with the perceptor. thats a variable function laser, a fist or sword and a carapace mount (lets go with the autocannon because tau are annoying. ) knights move at the speed of thought according to their lore. assuming "raven" is closer to the knights size than a tau battle suit it comes down to melee. at range a knight can orient its ion shield and has plenty of advanced targetting equipment. so the question becomes can the core hit hard enough in melee to drop the knight and is it mobile enough to avoid getting cored out with a high intensity las impulsor. errant and paladin are likewise better armed for mech brawls. i'm not claiming knights are invincible just that you kinda set a warden up for failure against what appears to be a giant crisis suit. not its job. a better opponent is one of the variants armed with an overkill stick for getting stuck in against a wraith host. (amusingly the image used for an imperial knight is a bare bones errant. missing a carapace mount. which could be missiles , rockets or an anti aircraft autocannon mount.) the errants got an immediate advantage over the warden described in the song as its thermal cannon is designed for mech fights. as fast as raven is emphasized to be, its not a heavily armored mech. a solid hit from a thermal cannon would absolutely slag such a machine. and speed doesn't guarantee the armored core a win. knight houses have sortied against the tau who think they're playing armored core, and held their own reasonably well. is raven a core model or a named character? it might have named character syndrome in armored core but every knight is a named character with centuries of past pilots teaching the current one every trick in the book.

(Tldr Raven is a main character in what amounts to a small knight with the flying capabilities of the tau. A normal knight isn't going to win. Another main character could do it I am not an armored core nut but I have played the newest armored core game. AC'S are massive combat mechs with flying capabilities and a massive amount of firepower. They *can* have energy shields that surround the entire mech for short bursts. To avoid running through everything they can do, i will summarize. They have two main weapons held in their hands, they can have two additional places for equipment on their shoulders that can hold alot. Additional main guns, missle batteries, energy reinforced shields, plain old mini-guns, ect. Add in limited use equipment (only 1 per Ac and has single digit uses in missions) for a few options for defensive shields and a damaging energy blast that tends to temporarily knock out other AC's/mech's systems. (For the sake of size comparison they can be lowballed at 7 stories tall ) I believe Raven is the name for the main characters in each game. The name Raven is a title/callsign. Raven doesn't have a specific skill set because of how modular Ac's are in game. What is not up for debate is the skill they possess in any annd all aspects of using a Ac. In AC6 our Raven ends up fighting a squad of Ac's all being led by a competent Ai that has trained, fought, killed, and studied thousands of the best pilots. We still beat them in the end. Raven (AC6 Raven at least) is the best pilot of their time and possibly ever.

@@Wyxill no ones mentioned anything about an armored core that the knights haven't seen before. Faster? Eldar wraith constructs. Flight? Tau battle suits Energy weapons? They have their own collection. Shields? Ion shields are constant and shaped with a thought. Experience? A pilot can have 10+millenia of ancestors rattling around his/her noggin with advice for anything they run into. Ravens advantage is mobility for its size. Wraith knights generally don't fly and battle suits catch a physics hammer at around the size of a ghost keel knight sized battle suits tend to be gun platforms. Ravens going to have a window where the knights figuring out how to pin it down . (Most knight worlds in lore also have a bit of secondary Pacific rim going on. So they may have had to run off something the size of a flying knight before. Nothing the AC is doing is particularly unknown to the houses. Raven probably wins most fights from ambush but a brawl? Knights are born to brawl. And a lone knight is probably a free blade who typically have way more time in the field and self sufficient methods than house knights.

If you are using a higher end Knight, then a higher end AC should be the opponent. For some reference AC's in 6 are definitely more powerful than most older games. Capabilities of AC's in 6 include the following. Can hold up to 4 weapons. Has 1 slot for optional abilities(Pulse shielding, AOE EMP attack, Stationary Energy barrier, etc) Great Hand to hand combat capabilities. Excellent flight, and movement capabilities. Capable of Operating in space. Excellent target lock, and tracking. Has capacity for 3 repair kits. All in all there's only 2 games I know where 6's AC's wouldn't dominate. AC4, and it's sequel For Answer. NEXT type AC's in For Answer have the following. Can hold 4 main weapons, a paired set of shoulder equipment(missile add-ons, flares, shield amplifies, auxiliary boosters, etc), and 2 reserve weapons(hand guns, Energy blades, etc, unless it's a tank build then the reserve weapons can be regular hand weapons. Absolutely insane flight, and movement abilities(while being faster.) Passive 360 degree energy shielding(the power source for this irradiates the environment with heavily toxic particles with a horrendously long half-life.) Can have built in AOE EMP/Radiation attack that runs off of shield energy. Better lock on range, though not necessarily tracking target reacquisition is still excellent. -May lack space combat capabilities. -No repair kits, but higher quality armor. -No hand to hand combat ability except for energy blades. A NEXT would be an absolute nightmare on the battlefield, and would likely beat a Knight with some level of ease depending on the piolet.

Between the 2 the Night is stronger. It has plenty of armor and defense while the core it's faster. It has versatility in heavy firepower on its side. A smaller frame means it can getting close and the night is bulkier. Might not be able to reach. There's a fair argument. For either one of them winning. But. A skilled core pilot can out maneuver intake advantage of the blind spots of a night. While a veteran night pirate could use its bulky frame. To Torch the core before it gets in close. I would give it to the core personally
