I'm a huge milsim guy, absolutely love games like Tarkov and RoN but I've been spending an uncharacteristic amount of time in this game just because of the mods and the bots. I spent like 45 minutes putting together a pseudo "project reality" preset because i wanted the vibe of playing Squad but didn't want to actually participate with the team and I didn't want there to be any stakes to it. I like carefree fun as much as the next guy some days. I have legitimately had so much fun just playing around in this game, it's unreal. I wish there was a co-op or built in multiplayer mode where you could squad up with your buddies. If you're on the fence about this game, do yourself a favor and just buy it. It'll give you way more than you could possibly imagine

As a modder for this game and longtime member of the community, it saddens me to say that my interest in Ravenfield has died down alot since Steel's progress is notoriously slow (slow might not even be enough to describe it) and the fact that Conquest was cancelled in some parts which was the only gamemode I was truly looking foward to only made it worse. It's a good game with a great community but the developer is sadly not up to the task.

​@@deaghostyt2217don't forget that Hijong Park basically made two gamemodes before Scripted Missions were a thing. - Ghost of Raven and Raven Engaged were vehicular combat survival modes, where you would fight against waves of enemy vehicles that grow in strength and number each wave. - I Am Soarin Behind You (IASBY) is a semi-horror survival game. You drive around the map doing tasks while trying to avoid two (obviously joke) monsters. Add to that you don't have any weapons, there's no other bots to support you, and the car you've been given tends to break down. A lot.

Oh, gamemodes are most certainly modable: - There's a Quake gamemode where the first person/bot to reach the target score of kills wins the match. - There's a (somewhat janky) Team Deathmatch gamemode with a set target score and randomized spawns. - two vehicular combat modes (one for air and one for land) where you try to survive against waves of enemy vehicles (and sometimes infantry with Anti-Tank weapons). - A semi-horror survival gamemode where you drive around completing tasks while avoiding the two monsters roaming the map. There's even a bit of lore there. - Ruckus in Raven Town is a gamemode made for RavenM. It's basically Trouble in Terrorist Town for GMod. And that's not going over the potential Scripted Maps have: - Hans (Sams)' map that replicates the old COD Zombies gameplay, complete with PAP, perks, and the mystery box. - Sofa's horror open-world map, with a story and some weapons you can fund scouranged around the map. - Personperhaps' roguelike map, where you buy weapons to push through increasingly tough rooms with enemies, with the catch being that the weapons all have modified stats. Oh, this also works on modded weapons.

With 647 hours (this sounds cringe already) It is a very fun game and you tell all the key points you just left out that the bots have Sub-Brick intelligence, there are some small minor things that it misses, and a lot of the mods on the workshop or broken/outdated and that the vanilla game mode is pretty bare-bones. But overall you got alot of it. This game is heavily underrated. Hats off to you!

Yes, updates are fairly slow, but each one is also quite a large update: > EA26 - Updates the game to a newer Unity version. This broke a lot of old mods, but it does pave the way for newer mods with a lot of potential. It also optimized gameplay and also revamped the Vehicle Selector: not only can you actually see the model of the vehicle you're picking out, there's also an option that allows you to put any vehicle in any slot (a tank-like vehicle in the Quad slot, another attack helicopter in the Transport Helicopter slot, etc). > EA27 - Adds in a demo story mission, allowing us to take a peek at both the (soon to be) campaign of the game and the new mechanics that were introduced here such as checkpoints, scripted paths, custom objectives and dialogs, etc. It also allows modders to create stuff using the new Trigger System. > EA28 - Refines the Trigger System for modders, adding in some more new things for them to play around with. > EA29 - Refines the Instant Action menu, adding in a little background preview that map makers can change around. The base game is literally Battlefield bot matches, that's the idea and concept. I like the game, but years of playing the AIX2 mod for BF2 got me going back there instead. All tho if it let's me spawn a Comanche on any map and wreak havoc, i might re-download it again.

Good for you, than, because there's now mods that allows you to spawn a vehicle on literally any map you're on, so long as there's a vehicle in the slot that you spawn in.

Vanilla+ is what I recommend the MOST for anyone wanting to keep shit lightweight. Have had tens of hours of fun with that. The fictional European campaign (I forget the name, it's like 3 fake countries) is also a BANGER!

V+ has its own lore and has more than 3 factions, tho most other are only skin changes exept for magpie and the halcyon crisis mods which are basically V+ mods. The 3 base factions are basically NATO (Eagle Federation), basically 2040 CSAT (Raven Union) and basically 2003 Iraq (Kestrel Accord)
