Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway 07.08.24 - 08.08.24

A few days in the Lakedistrict and we visited Ravenglass and had a ride on this lovely 15 inch gauge railway, it was autumn 2016 since we last visited, very nice railway with plenty of trains running and stunning countryside

@tonywinward it's a great little railway, wish they done rover tickets 😂, I used to go alot when I was a kid but last time I visited was 8 years ago which is far to long

Thank you for a great video ! Must be a good 40 years since my last visit, I had just finished a 7¼" Heywood type Tinkerbell and was chatting about it with the driver of Northern Rock, who invited me for a footplate ride to Boot :):) Was their use of two-way radio for single line working a first in the uk ? I see they still use it, and the railway looks to be doing quite well, as it deserves. Perhaps we'll visit the line again, you certainly wetted my appetite !

I don't do looking at scenery when steamies are running. I love to stare at steamies all day long, and nothing else. It's just the way I am. It beats sweltering in the loft all day.
