No readings slumps here!!!! Reading is the way we can scape from reality and immerse ourselves in fantastic stories so those are not welcome... Never keep seems like a really promising series😌 can't wait 💜💜

Never keep's ending completely caught me off-guard. The Twisted Sisters always know what they're doing to us. I've started reading a contemporary romance series by them and even those books have insane cliffhangers. Also you've convinced me to start This woven kingdom during my Uni break (which is really soon) 💜💜.

The Scattered Bones by Nicole Scarano will prevent a slump! Its very fast-pace, only 276 pages, and you will not believe how emotionally attached you are to the characters and world in such a short book. It is a heart-aching love story. The only book I've read that gave me WTMH vibes (no dragons, but the longing, aching and depth of love and prose).

💟 love your videos! I’m also reading A Crown This Cold & Heavy and my thoughts are the same! I wish the romance wasn’t so lusty and have found myself skipping through those scenes! Their relationship isn’t developing enough for me not the way fated mates should be. I love the plot though! Both book 1&2 have been 3.5-3.75 stars for me. They were good enough for me to want to read more but missing something in each.

🪻I also felt like I was going into a reading slump this month! I read the first book in The Kingdom of Lies series at the end of last month/beginning of Oct and it fell a bit flat for me ☹️ I really liked the plot and the characters but the romance between the two main characters didn’t do it for me. To me their relationship seemed very list driven, and there were times where I felt like the MMC was a bit of an ass and straight up mean to our FMC. I was intrigued by the ending but I’m not sure if I want to pick up the second book 🥴🪻

I started Never Keep last night and i am bracing myself!!! I have a greay rec for you. I just finished The Death King by Penelope Barsetti and was blown away! Book 2 was even better and the feels...OMG! A dark fantasy romance with dragons..no fae! On KU and audiobooks on Everand! Book 3 comes out tomorrow and book 4 next month! Please check it out! I havent had "the feels" in a while! I love this series!❤❤

So about The Wraith King, I gave it a 3 star because I thought it was ok, but I think I won't try another Juliette Cross book. I don't think she's a bad author (she really has creative ideas for story settings) but her writing framework in terms of character and setting feels surface level to me. I read Wolf Gone Wild first, from her paranormal urban fantasy series, and felt the same thing. I thought that maybe with The Wraith King I was going to get a bit more of detailed workd building and more complex character relationships but again, everything was too light. I can see how nothing from the story or characters was gripping you. Next year she's releasing a new book called Firebird and the first print will be absolutely stunning but I'm trying to convince myself not to get it because I'm afraid I'm going to feel disappointed with her storytelling mechanics again 😭😂.
